Just out here checking all the boxes with my gingham pants 😉 I’m petite but these pants hit right at the ankle so there was no need to hem them! It’s been incredibly hot the last few weeks to the point that I don’t want to leave my home however, there’s finally some relief! Took a trip up north to Whistler! The day called for an athleisure all black look with pops of white. I intially regretted my decision to wear a thermal and was sweating at the bottom of the mountain. However, as we gradually got higher in elevation, it was perfect! I don’t own hiking shoes but these platform sneakers for served me well for numerous years through a variety of terrain! I can now tick off snow and mountains as things it can tolerate! I also didn’t want to bring my backpack so I brought along my crossbody!

If I’m wearing an all black outfit, I always like adding some visually appealing details. Whether it’s with accessories or shapes and textures, I don’t want my look to appear flat. For this black ensemble, I wore a cashmere/wool blend cocoon sleeve top with a suede belt and I’m sure you can take a wild guess as to what the focus should be on! I’ve had these boots for OVER 10 YEARS! They’re no longer in stock but they’ve held up wonderfully! There’s something about a boat neck (bateau) neckline that really draws me in. It accentuates my collarbone and I feel that this elegant design choice instantly elevates any look. The warm weather looks like it’ll be here to stay so I’m pulling out all my swimwear! I have an affinity for one piece swimsuits since it’s more flattering on my figure. This midnight blue ribbed piece isn’t basic! There’s ribbed fabric, underwire, criss-cross detailing on the back, and thick shoulder straps to provide added comfort.

I’ll take any excuse to dress up so themed parties are always an exciting opportunity for me to tap into the creative part of my brain. My company had a 1920’s themed New Year’s party and it was wonderful to see everyone all dressed up! I wanted a unique dress and this asymmetrical fringe one definitely checked that box. This mahogany dress has beautiful beading on top and since it was a bit chilly, I layered up with a faux fur shawl.

I have no idea how the ladies of the 20’s did it but my head was throbbing by the end of the night. The headpiece left an enormous indent after wearing it for 5 hours; I was so glad to pop it off my forehead and let my skin come back to its normal form!

Since there was already so much going on, I kept the rest of my accessories simple. I went with a single strand of pink freshwater pearls on top of a single pearl drop necklace. I wanted to keep with the times so I got this beautiful gold metallic art deco top handle evening bag. It was really moody inside with the lighting so pictures don’t do this look justice but it was such an incredible night with even better company.
