One of my favorite tricks for making affordable furniture look more expensive: repetition. I transformed my front porch using mostly secondhand vintage finds to create a timeless, collected outdoor space on a budget.

I’m on a mission to prove that you can layer patterns without making a room feel overwhelming. The secret is choosing patterns that complement one another while repeating colors and mixing scales to create a space that feels collected instead of chaotic.

For our media room, I wanted something playful enough to double as a playroom, yet timeless and nostalgic, almost like the cozy charm of an old movie theater. I layered a striped thrifted sofa and ottoman, patterned rug, warm wallpaper, soft lighting, candle sconces (with faux candles for safety), and a @Lulu and Georgia sideboard that adds beautiful hidden storage beneath the TV.

What surprised me most is that I ordered three panels of the same mural, and the design seamlessly repeats itself, picking up right where it left off. This allowed me to continue the landscape across multiple walls and create a much more immersive, designer-looking room.
