There are items in my closet I’ll always have. They’re basics that effortlessly pull an outfit together and key pieces for travel. I’ll update them occasionally when they look tired or simply to keep their style current. A cropped trench jacket is a new favorite. The shorter length makes sense for California’s climate. Striped tees are favorite hero pieces that look chic with jeans, colored trousers or a leather skirt. A small tote in a neutral color is a classic investment piece and wearable year round. Hoops are always a winner in my book and this bubble style from Heub is interesting. I like how the post sits below the top of the hoop, which I imagine would conceal any pull on the ear lobe. Sneakers and bucket hats are pieces on rotation all the time. I always have several styles on hand for variety. And a tailored black trouser can go from polished to casual with a few styling tweaks.
