Today we are back in our kids rooms, part 2. So grab your ✔️black trash bags for donation ✔️white trash bags for trash ✔️ basket for things that belong somewhere else ⏰ set your timer for 30 minutes For toys/trinkets 1. I want you to take items out by category. Like all of the baby dolls put those in a pile all of the Legos, all vehicles, Barbie’s, etc. 2. Now I want you to pull out your kids very favorite toys out of each category that they love and would ask for today if it went missing. Set those aside. 3. With what is left, ask yourself these questions - [ ] has my child play with us in the last three months? - [ ] is this broken or without batteries that I’m never going to replace? If your kids are old enough to make these choices, have them go through them with you. For kids clothes: 1. is this outgrown? Donate or set aside for younger siblings if it’s still in good condition. 2. Is this stained or ripped? I like to keep 2 “paint/mud” outfits per kid, but outside of that I want their clothes to be versatile enough to be able to play outside , or wear out in public. Keep a couple as “messy” clothes let the rest go. 3. Does your kid hate wearing this? Life is too short to spend it arguing with kids about that they’re going to wear. If they think it’s “itchy” “scratchy” or “fill-in-the-blank-with-whatever-reason” let it go! 4.
