The @b.beautifullyorganized team knocked it out of the park with this one! ✨

Truly one of the best gifts we can give our kids is a clear + organized place to play! Kids thrive on structure (just like us!) and their playrooms should be no different!

If you’re ready to take your kids playroom from chaotic and cluttered to a streamlined space they’ll LOVE, comment PLAYROOM and we’ll show you how we can help! 😊
Welcome back to our 30 day home reset challenge, day 28!

I’m Brittany , Mom to 5, professional organizer, and owner of B. Beautifully Organized .

Now that we’ve got our garages Decluttered, Today we are decluttering our vehicles!

Grab a white trash bag for trash, a box of bin for things that don’t belong, set your timer for 30 minutes, and let’s go!

1. Is this trash? Toss it. If you have a headrest trashcan (I can’t recommend these enough!) go ahead and empty it.
2. Is this a Keep” but it belongs somewhere else? Toss it in the box to be taken inside after the session.

they should hopefully be pretty quick process, so go ahead and use the rest of this time to put all the items that belong somewhere else away.

I’ve got your bonus system in the caption below, and we’ll see you back tomorrow!

BONUS HOME 🏠 SYSTEM
HABIT TIME! Make a habit/rule that every time you or your family gets out of the car, bring 3 things in with you. If everyone is doing it nearly every time, then most things should be brought back inside and your car should stay decently clean, minus the Cheerios and goldfish crumbs 😆

2. If this item was broken, would I need to replace it? If not, let’s let it go!
3. If you’re on the fence about an item..could you replace it in the 10 minutes for $10? If yes, you can let it go.
4. Do I have multiples of this item “just in case?” If so? Let’s pair down to the best one or two and let the rest go.

Welcome back to our 30 day home reset challenge, day 22

I’m Brittany , Mom to five, professional organizer, and owner of B. Beautifully Organized .

Today we’re in the office. We will be spending two days in the home office as paper can be really tedious and overwhelming. So plan to do half today and half tomorrow.

Start at one side of the room and work your way around to the other, asking yourself these questions as you take items out.

Day 21! 🎉 Be sure to follow @b.beautifullyorganized so you don’t miss a day!

It takes 21 days to make a habit so if you’re on track and you’ve been decluttering with me everyday for the last 21 days-you’ve created a great habit. Give yourself a high-five and let’s get to today’s challenge.

Grab your black trash bags for donations, your white trash bags for trash, a basket for things that don’t belong, set your timer for 30 minutes and let’s go!

Empty out the cabinet, sort it into categories, and ask yourself these questions:

1. Did I even know we own this? Sometimes things get shoved in extra bathrooms and then we never see them because we don’t go in there daily. If you weren’t already missing it, let’s let it go.
2. If this item wasn’t missing, would I need to replace it? If not, let’s let it go!
3. How long ago did we buy this? Toiletries don’t have a four hour shelflife. Most toiletries expire within a year. If you think it could be expired, let it go.

Day 19! Make sure you are following @b.beautifullyorganized so you don’t miss a day!

Today we are in the coat or hall closet. So grab your black trash bags for donations, your white trash bags for trash, a basket for things that don’t belong, set your timer for 30 minutes and let’s go!

I want you to go ahead and empty the closet. Sort everything into categories and when you’re pulling out coats or winter gear, go ahead and separate them into piles for each member of the family.

Go through every item and ask yourself if these questions :

1. Does this fit the person it belongs to? If the answers no, and it’s not a hammy down to the next kid, put it in the donation bag.
2. Is this item in good condition or does it need to be replaced? If it’s not in good condition, it needs to be replaced, donate or trash, and make a note in your phone to order a replacement.
3. Does this item belong here? If not put it in the basket to be returned to its home at the end of the session
4. Have we used this in the last 12 months? If a full year has gone by and you haven’t used it, it’s safe to let it go.
Since most people are home for the holiday today, it’s a great time to have your family try on the seasonal items to make sure everything is fitting, so you can get rid of what’s not working and make a note to replace where necessary

Today we are back in our kids rooms, part 2.

So grab your
✔️black trash bags for donation
✔️white trash bags for trash
✔️ basket for things that belong somewhere else
⏰ set your timer for 30 minutes

For toys/trinkets
1. I want you to take items out by category. Like all of the baby dolls put those in a pile all of the Legos, all vehicles, Barbie’s, etc.
2. Now I want you to pull out your kids very favorite toys out of each category that they love and would ask for today if it went missing. Set those aside.
3. With what is left, ask yourself these questions
- [ ] has my child play with us in the last three months?
- [ ] is this broken or without batteries that I’m never going to replace?
If your kids are old enough to make these choices, have them go through them with you.

For kids clothes:
1. is this outgrown? Donate or set aside for younger siblings if it’s still in good condition.
2. Is this stained or ripped? I like to keep 2 “paint/mud” outfits per kid, but outside of that I want their clothes to be versatile enough to be able to play outside , or wear out in public. Keep a couple as “messy” clothes let the rest go.
3. Does your kid hate wearing this? Life is too short to spend it arguing with kids about that they’re going to wear. If they think it’s “itchy” “scratchy” or “fill-in-the-blank-with-whatever-reason” let it go!
4.

Day 12 of our Hone Reset Challenge!

Today we are in the entryway of the home! 🏠 This may be your front door, or the door to your garage, but wherever you and your family walk in and drop bags, shoes and backpacks, this is where we want to focus today.

Go ahead and grab your
✔️black bag for donation
✔️your white bag for trash
✔️basket for items to be put away
⏰set your 30 minute timer and let’s go!

⭐️ anything that is in this area that you haven’t used in the last 6 to 12 months, is safe to get rid of. We really need to prioritize the space for our most frequently used items.

⭐️Anything that’s here that you want to keep, but doesn’t belong in the space, put that in the basket to be put away after the session.

⭐️space permitting you want to have a spot to hang backpacks, coats, gloves, and hats, shoes, anything that you or your family needs on your way out the door.

⭐️A way to keep this area clear is by using bins and baskets that don’t have lids, so they’re easy for your family to access. Hooks are great for jackets and bags. If your family has to lift a lid to put something away, they’re probably not going to do it. Make this as easy as possible for your family to follow the system.

Set your timer for 30 minutes
And let’s go!

Start at one side of the kitchen and work your way to the other side and ask yourself the following question about each item

.
1. Does this item serve the same purpose as another item I have? Like multiple glass cleaning sprays, multiple hand mixers, two different types of food processors? if it does, pair down to the one that works best, and let go of the rest to create some space.
2. have I used this item in the last 6-12 months? If not, chances are good that you won’t use it and it will continue to collect dust, let’s let it go.
3. Is this item broken, chipped, or annoys me every time I try and use it? If that’s the case, let’s let it go.

Today we are in the pantry! Man, I love a good pantry. Pantries are probably are #1 space we get calls about from clients asking us to come and organize. Everyone can use pantry organization.

I want you to grab something a little different today, grab a box (like an amazon box) for donations, white trash bag for trash, and set your timer for 30min-an hour depending on how much time you have AND how much is in your pantry.

We’re going to focus on 3 categories
1. expired food. I know there are some people that don’t mind if shelf stable food is expired, but this biggest indicator of something being expired is that you’re not using it. If you feel like you don’t have enough space in your pantry, toss the expired food if for nothing else than the fact that you haven’t used it.
2. Food you bought hoping your family would like but didn’t.
3. Food you bought because of a fad or ticktock but you actually hate it.
4. Things that have been sitting for months and aren’t doing you any good. Like Halloween candy, or for that matter, Christmas candy. Let it go.

If you have time and energy, do the same thing with the same categories in the refrigerator.

Day 6 of our 30 Day Home Reset Challenge!

Today we are in the pantry! Man, I love a good pantry. Pantries are probably are #1 space we get calls about from clients asking us to come and organize. Everyone can use pantry organization.

Day 5 of our 30 Day Home Reset Challenge!

Master bedroom!

Grab your black trash bags for donation , white trash bags poor trash, set your timer, and let’s go!

let’s start in the back corner of the room and work your way to the right until you’re back where you started. This will keep you on track. You’re going to pick up every item and decide if it’s a donate, trash, something that belongs somewhere else in the house, or something that stays in your bedroom.

With each item you pick up, ask yourself:
1. Have I used this in the last six months? If not, let it go!
2. Is this broken or damaged? If it is, toss it!
3. Is it something I don’t LOVE and wouldn’t miss it if it was gone? If it is, donate it!
4. Is it something that is useful and that makes my life better, easier, or just makes me happy? Then keep it!

When you find something that doesn’t belong in your bedroom, put it in a pile just outside your door and wait until the end to put everything away. If you try to do it during your declutter session, you’ll get distracted and won’t be able to get as much accomplished.

This is a simple one but MAN it makes a difference. I want you to commit to making your bed every morning for the duration of the challenge! To help you remember, write a little reminder note and tape it to your bathroom mirror. If you are the first one out of bed, and you leave before your spouse does, see if you can trade something with him to get him to make it! Having a made bed just makes your whole home feel more put together. Try it until the end of the month, and by that point you’ll be at the 21 days required to form a habit! 🙌🏼 #containerstoreambassador #bbeautifullyorganized #organization #declutteryourlife

Want your family to ACTUALLY put things away? Make it easier for them! Set up systems (baskets/hooks) where they already dump their stuff.

It won’t be perfect but it will be much easier then having them store things in a new spot!

Follow for all things organization and decluttering!

Day 3 of our 30 Day Home Reset Challenge!

Step 1-grab your black bag for donation and white bag for trash
Step 2. Set a timer for 30-min to 1 hour, based on how much time you have. (If you can, I recommend an hour!)
Step 3- look at each item individually and ask yourself the following questions:

1. Is this item annoying? Like leggings that fall down or shoes that pinch your toes?? If yes , THROW IT OUT
2. Do I have multiples of this item that I could pair down? Like 5 clutch bags when you pretty much use the same purse everyday? LET SOME GO!
3. Do I feel like the best version of myself when I wear this? If the answer is no, toss it!
4. Am I holding onto this because I spent a lot on it but I don’t really love it? Every time you see it you are just reliving it and making yourself feel bad.Time to let it go, friend!

Find a bin or box to set up a donation station in your home. This can be been in your closet, your garage, but preferably somewhere on the main floor of your home. Anytime you come across something that needs to be donated, toss it in the box. When the box is full, put it straight in your car, donate it when you are out and about, and then bring the box back to it home for the next round.
