Ad. Comment "SUMMER" for my outdoor favorite, including our BOUNCE HOUSE, which we use daily (2x!) and my outdoor serve-ware (that we also use on repeat). What it takes to have a big family, PART 2. Holy moly. Our days are full. But, I love full. Full means you built something you now have to work to maintain. And the working part. The being productive with my life, working hard to do the things I love ... feels like it's what it's all about. Do I wonder what a calm life would be like? Sometimes. Do I wish a calm life were my life? I wonder. But deep down, I know (it sounds crazy) this is the kind of life that makes me happy. Being a mom is a mission. And having five kids immediately puts you on one. Almost as if I can do more because of them. Not just directly through them, but through many other aspects of my life. As if my kids, each one of them, have expanded my capacity for living... and doing. Days are not perfect. Trust me. But they're full. And they're fun. And they're ours. What each day ALWAYS has: me waking up before the kids. Me working out first thing in the morning. Me getting myself ready.
