Potentially unpopular opinion: skip the kids size gear. If your child is at least 7 or 8 its worth investing in adult size gear. This doesn't apply to clothes, but does apply to paddle boards, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, hammocks, tents, etc. Your kids will grow faster than you realize! My girl has been able to handle a full size paddle board since she was 8 and it was worth buying a full size board! Some of our favorite water adventure gear is tagged here.
