If I’ve learned anything as a designer over these past 4 years it’s that everyone’s personal style is just that.. PERSONAL ✨

I have always been drawn to light blues and more traditional coastal interiors but I let other peoples opinions get in my head

“It’s too colorful!” “It’s going to be harder to sell” “That’s not really the style here”

I honestly had grown to love so many different styles after designing for different clients with differing styles that I muted down my personal style with lots of trendy styles and colors (which I absolutely love to do for clients) but I realized it wasn’t me!

One of the first things I have my clients do is to create a Pinterest inspo board for their space and share with me so that I can pinpoint their true personal as I find repeating elements in pictures they may not even notice they’re drawn to. A lot of times a client will say their style is one thing but their Pinterest board tells me otherwise! Well, all that to say that I was never doing this to myself and realized I was one of those clients who was basically in denial of my interior style so I finally decided to embrace my Southern Traditional Coastal style and I couldn’t be happier!! Every day I come downstairs to my living room, and it brings me so much joy ✨

✨So just remember, your style will be different from your neighbors and that’s ok, in fact, it’s BEAUTIFUL!! ✨

Day 12- Our Basement Suite🤍

I cheated a little and combined all 4 rooms into one for this post but it works 🤷‍♀️ It’s been a year and half since we finished this space and I think I’m most sad about this space and wish we finished it sooner. But we got to enjoy it as much as we could before leaving and now our new renters will get to enjoy it 🤍

I think this may be my absolute favorite room in our home. I am obsessed with the hydrangea wallpaper and love the traditional feel it brought into this home. I’m a little sad I can’t take this room with me but I’m excited to create a new one for her in the new home!
