My fireplace used to have boring outdated tiles. It would have been a bigger project to gut and replace, so I opted to paint! I was afraid to do it at first but I found this great stencil that would work well with my decor. What I did not know is how much the paint bleeds through the stencil (tried every method in the books)—so I ended up tracing it on and hand-painting each tile.
