When I was thinking through the design of my kitchen cabinets, I knew I wanted my dishes in the lower cabinets instead of the uppers. I was tired of lifting a heavy stack of plates above my head to put them away or straining to take them down.

I asked the custom cabinet maker we were working with to get a peg board insert for the two lower drawers with many wooden pegs, so I could adjust my dish configuration as needed.

Incase you’re wondering, the wooden pegs keep the plates and bowls from hitting one another as the drawer opens and closes.

5 years later, I have no regrets on this kitchen design choice. I’d do it again & recommend it to anyone starting kitchen renovations or building a new home.

I didn’t want our TV above the fireplace, so I had to figure out how to arrange the furniture in our living room to where people could sit & visit, but also turn & see the TV behind them. Swivel chairs were a perfect solution for this!

Love how this fun & easy DIY heart wreath turned out.

Here’s what you need:

🩷 12 inch heart wire wreath frame
❤️ 1/2 a yard of 4-6 different fabrics (solids & prints)
🩷 fabric scissors

How to make it:
❤️ double your fabric & cut into strips roughly 6” long and 1” wide
🩷 Tie a single knot to attach the fabric to the wire wreath frame, alternate fabrics & continue to tie fabric until the entire frame is covered

Hang it up & enjoy! 💝

My coffee table book on Italy & this Amalfi Coast tee that recently arrived on my doorstep has me wanting to bring some of that vibe into the house for the upcoming summer season.

This scalloped edged salmon & white striped table cloth with blue trim was exactly what I needed! It reminds me of the classic stripe umbrellas at the beach clubs in my book.

I styled the table with items I had around the house. Looking forward to setting it up different ways as the summer approaches. Maybe next time we bring in some yellow & 🍋 s, whatcha think?
