When I was thinking through the design of my kitchen cabinets, I knew I wanted my dishes in the lower cabinets instead of the uppers. I was tired of lifting a heavy stack of plates above my head to put them away or straining to take them down. I asked the custom cabinet maker we were working with to get a peg board insert for the two lower drawers with many wooden pegs, so I could adjust my dish configuration as needed. Incase you’re wondering, the wooden pegs keep the plates and bowls from hitting one another as the drawer opens and closes. 5 years later, I have no regrets on this kitchen design choice. I’d do it again & recommend it to anyone starting kitchen renovations or building a new home. . . . . kitchen cabinet planning | kitchen design | kitchen planning | kitchen organizing | kitchen organization | drawer design | dish storage | plate storage | custom cabinets | plate drawer
