Thriving in your 40s as a 48 year old means: 1️⃣ Prioritizing sleep above all else. A lot of your poor nutrition choices can be traced back to being tired. Make less commitments if you need to. 2️⃣Making movement an almost daily habit. Getting steps in is like brushing my teeth nowadays. 3️⃣Complain less (working on this) journal and reflect more. I try to figure out what’s the lesson in the challenge. Keeps stress and cortisol levels down. 4️⃣Drink water first. Before I eat or snack I drink water. 5️⃣Wear what you want. There’s no hack in your 40s 😅. Just gotta put in the time for your workouts🏋🏾‍♀️. This means it has to be a priority which is so hard! Here’s the thing - when I don’t prioritize my workouts (in addition to walking) I can feel it. It’s like I’m running on 70% energy with all of the same responsibilities. My mood is off 😒, things start aching (again), sleep sucks 😫, my family feels it and my productivity takes a major nosedive 🫠! So this isn’t a “don’t have the time to workout kind of thing” - it’s either make the time or lose the time I could’ve gain by showing up as my best self!
