The best part of my job is showering the people I love with special items that help create a home they love. In this case, it was a 9 ft pre-lit flocked Christmas tree from @kingofchristmas ! This tree comes in 4 sections but it was so easy to assemble and can you believe there wasn’t a huge flocking mess? It’s perfect in this corner especially with their two story ceilings.

The curtains are up and I still can’t decide between the two. 🤔I hung the mauve ones by using the pinch pleat method. The ochre drapes are hung by the threads on the back. I wanted to give you an idea how they both look since there are different ways to hang curtains. Ok which color has your vote?

One of my favorite changes to our bedroom is the Georgie rug from @loloirugs @amberinteriors collection. I love the earthy tones and that it doesn’t roll on top of our carpet.

If you’re on the fence with wallpaper, try your hand at this gray poplin peel and stick wallpaper. It’s by far the easiest one to install making it the perfect first wallpapering project. There’s nothing to line up and it blends seamlessly. That’s another reason why I didn’t put it behind the headboard. I can add it anytime if I want in the future.

Last week, I gave this awkward alcove a refresh. My mantra is always shop the house first! You don’t need to go and buy something to start or finish a space. Work with what you have and move things around. You may just love the simple change that gives you a fresh new look without spending a dime.

I grabbed a couple more frames around the house and tested them out in the alcove. Which one is your favorite? The framed canvas, round mirror or gold framed art?

Who else is sad that @brownbutterbakeryny went back to New York? 🙋🏻‍♀️😢 I’ve been sad but thankful for all the crazy videos I have saved on my phone. Swipe to see my sis and niece enjoying our patio. The cutest was when I would randomly see my 6 yr old niece come out on her own to enjoy this space alone. She told me she loved how peaceful it was.🥰🥰🥰

The greatest gift this patio has given us is the ability to share it with our loved ones. Thanks to my friends at @serenaandlily for adding special decorative touches like this foldable teak stool so we can relax even longer on the sofa. The breakfast tray serves as my desk when I want to work out here which is quite often.

Our dining set still hasn’t arrived but that didn’t stop me from setting a pretty table in the patio for our mothers and Granny June today.

Speaking of Granny June, she turns 94 tomorrow!! She’s as grumpy, sassy and hilarious as ever. Today, she was super annoyed to be woken up to celebrate and take photos. You better believe she was internally cursing us out 🤬. But we still love her for it. Plus, we try to take as many photos and videos of her as possible bc we know our days are limited with her.

Happy 94th birthday, Granny June! You are dearly loved and adored even when you pitch a fit and give us all the stink eye. 👀

If you don’t know where to start when decorating a space, find a gorgeous rug. This one coordinates with the dark green from the bookshelf, velvet drapes and the soft peach hues are so pretty.

I shared some tips on my stories for keeping rugs stay put on hardwood floors and carpet. I hope you found them helpful bc bunched up rugs or curled edges are annoying and a total tripping hazard.

I’ve been on a furniture makeover kick lately and this one did not disappoint!! I cut some fluted molding pieces and glued them on top of my 18 year old glass console table. In 1985, my very young parents immigrated to the US with me and my baby sister @brownbutterbakeryny. She had just turned 1 and I was 5. Swipe to see the photo of us at the airport the day we left South Korea. We all look legit DEPRESSED!! Can you tell my grandparents and their sisters were so upset we were leaving? 😭My parents were understandably filled with anxiety of the unknown future that awaited us.

I couldn’t truly understand the extent of what was happening but I was depressed bc my mama made the decision to cut my long hair and give me the worst perm just days before we left. I guess she thought it was a nice fresh start to our new life? Mom, you were so wrong for that! 🤣

My mom recently gave me this photo a few months ago and we laughed so so hard. When I look at this this photo now, I see struggle, hope, resilience, determination and so many terrible hair styles. 😜It reminds me where I came from and how hard my parents worked to provide the life they wanted for us. Thank you, 엄마 and 아빠. I am forever grateful for your love and sacrifice. Now, it’s my turn to take care of you. ❤️

Today’s “Goodness Grazes” platter consists of a variety of cheeses, Korean scallion pancakes, an assortment of dips, crackers and some fresh fruits and vegetables.

I shared a blog post today on some tips to help your kids eat more veggies. One of those tips is including some delicious dips or dressings. My kids love cookie butter with celery and apples and ranch dressing with mini peppers and carrots. Korean gochujang is the perfect spicy sauce for cucumbers.

What would you eat first from this board? My dairy intolerance didn’t stop me from digging into the brie with hot pepper jelly! 😋 Yum!

Today, I partnered up with my friends @atcharlotteshouse and @honeybuilthome and shared our painting projects on our stories. I reupholstered that ottoman with some fun animal print fabric and painted the base. Now it’s as good as new again! Are you surprised I didn’t paint it black?😂

Since the kids have been home so much, I have been trying to teach them new things like roasting a whole chicken, painting old furniture and reupholstering cushions. I’m not great at teaching conventional subjects but I can sure teach you how to create a tablescape!

Today’s summer lesson was making homemade biscuits with Jules. The best part? You only need 2 ingredients! I shared the recipe in today’s blog post. What’s your favorite way to eat biscuits? Mine is with fig preserves and some fried chicken!

Did you see the blog post today on my client’s master bedroom reveal? My favorite part is how we updated the office area in the room. We incorporated a lot of special pieces that have been passed down to my client from her grandparents like this antique dining table and chair. I reupholstered the chair for a simple update.
