I know the trends are what works but then it’s also why we feel like everyone is doing the same thing. And it stifles creativity.

My posts are creatively ground breaking by any means but it’s a format that I like. It’s a catch 22 because trends do create growth, controversy does make you go viral. But is that the point?

The question I get asked the most is, “Are you going to try to be an influencer?”
This question makes me squirm.
Which feels silly, considering I have 20K followers on Instagram and have been sharing my life online for almost 15 years. So yes, it’s a fair question. But why does it still make me uncomfortable?
The truth is, I don’t want to be an influencer.
At least not in the way people usually mean.
Yet in so many ways, I feel like I need to be.

Now that I find myself unemployed from the corporate job that was supposed to buy me time, the answer technically has to be yes. But the real question is: can I do this in my own way?
