This is why I travel. Every kind soul from the children to the elderly welcomed us with open arms and they never held back their smiles ✨♥️ There’s always a certain innocence about traveling to a place that has yet been spoilt by us tourists. I hope you find love. And I don’t just mean that in regards to someone you wrap your tired bones around at night. I mean that I hope you find love in every aspect of your life. I hope you find it tucked into early morning sunrises, and the smell of your favorite places. I hope you find it strung between the laughter you share with your friends, I hope it bounces off of you when you hug the people you care for, I hope it swells within your ribcage whenever you hear your favorite song, or discover something that moves you. I hope you fall in love with growth, and change, and the messiness and the beauty of fucking up, and making mistakes, and becoming exactly who you want to be. I hope you find love in places that were once void of it, in places within yourself that you could have been softer to, kinder to, in the past . Because if there is one thing I have learned, it is that love is so much more than a boy, or a girl, who holds your heart. Love is everything around you. It is everything.

It’s Christmas Eve and I’m home in Michigan reflecting on this day and everything I have to be grateful for. No matter where I am in the world, I always make it just in time to be home for Christmas. It’s so important to me to be with my family during this time of year. Sunset over the very special and spiritual town of Assisi where the remains lay of one of my favorite Saints, St. Francis of Assisi. In a world where faith is becoming less and less important, I find that my faith has only gotten stronger. I grew up Catholic but the faith was never forced on me. My heart was always drawn to it ever since I was little and Christ has been the center of my heart and He always will be, regardless of the times. I now leave you with this beautiful prayer by the Beautiful St. Francis of Assisi and whether you’re a believer or a non-believer, I hope you find some peace in it, if only for a moment: 🕊 Lord make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred let me sow love
Where there is injury, pardon
Where there is doubt, faith

I can’t believe it took me this long to visit to Amsterdam. I had no expectations prior to arriving but boy oh boy the moment I caught a glimpse of the city and felt it’s incredible energy, my heart was stolen. I officially added it to my list of places I could see myself living and now I’m in trouble because the list has gotten too long 😂 this is the view of the incredible @pulitzer.amsterdam hotel located in one of Amsterdam’s hippest neighborhoods in the middle of a @unesco World Heritage Site and designed by the brilliant @jacustrauss. So, if you’re the girl who is always there for others, know that your heart is rare. See, sometimes the girl who is always there for everyone else, needs someone there for her. Sometimes, the girl who smiles the biggest holds the biggest hurt. Sometimes the girl who encourages everyone around her needs to be told that she is appreciated, that she matters; sometimes she needs to be encouraged herself. Know that you hold within you an ability to calm storms in people. Know that you give people hope, that you inspire them by acknowledging the pieces of them most ignore, that you make people feel wanted, that you make people feel like they have purpose.
However, also remind yourself that you are not invincible. Your heart needs rest. You need rest. Remind yourself that you do not need to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders, that you may not be able to save everyone, that you may not be able to heal every hurt. Remind yourself that you deserve to take all of the energy you put out into the world and invest it back into yourself from time to time. That you are worthy of the love you keep giving to everyone else. Remind yourself, that you don’t always have to be strong, that you don’t always have to be the fixer. Remind yourself that you can be human, that you can ask for help; that you don’t always have to be the one to save yourself.

I'v always dreamt of seeing Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist temple and I'm grateful to @indtravel for making this dream come true for me. As with anything worth experiencing it in life, the journey to Borobudur was not an easy one but was surely worth it. We set off the catch the sunrise around 3:50 and shortly after the sun came up, I took some time to solo wander away from the crowds and I couldn't help but to feel the special energy lingering through this beautiful, misty place, reminding me to trust in hope and new beginnings 🙏🏼✨ I'm holding a beautiful flower given to me as a blessing by a kind old Chinese lady after she prayed. The more I travel, the more I've grown to realize the importance of not only learning about the cultures of the countries we visit but to fully embrace them through connection with the very people that make these cultures so great. We started off our @indtravel #TripOfWonders journey by spending the morning at Setu Babakan, the Center of Betawi Culture learning about Jakarta's indigenous people and experiencing their passion through dance and art. Authentic travel means connection, not only with locals but with yourself to give your heart a moment to reflect on the rest of the world and to connect with fellow travelers. I'm fortunate to have met some incredible people here with me on this trip and it's refreshing to meet like-minded travels who also value that same connection.
