Okay so last year I did zero strength training. Like literally zero. 😅 And I paid for it with multiple injuries that had me questioning everything. But here I am, coming back, and this time I’m doing it differently. If I want to hit my goals, a stronger 10K this summer, a faster half marathon, and eventually a marathon, I can’t just run and hope for the best. Strong legs have to be part of the plan. So I added strength training. This is week 5 of my @runna “Back After Injury” plan and today’s session was called “Race Day Focus” which honestly felt very fitting. Why runners actually need strength training 👇 ✔️ Injury prevention (learned that one the hard way) ✔️ Better running economy ✔️ More power when it counts most Fueled by @drinkmagna electrolytes and my @garmin keeping track of everything. 🖤 Anyone else skipping strength training and pretending it’s fine? 😂 running strengthtraining backafterinjury runnersofinstagrm 10ktraining womenwhorum 10ktraining halfmarathontraining marathontraining injuryrecovery runnersofig garmin strongerrunner fitnessmotivation
