- Scale of the art matters - and I know art is expensive. I DIYed a lot of the art in this house!
- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, rugs that are too small aren’t the vibe. At a minimum make sure all the furniture legs are on the rug. For that extra cozy vibe, go for all legs on the rug
- pay attention to the scale of your decor. I often see things that are too small making the entire space look odd. A simple fix with the right size piece

My special talent happens to be killing every plant I’ve ever owned.

So at the risk of jinxing it — I finally figured out why strawberry planters always die on me. The water never actually reaches the pockets on the sides.

After one whole week of testing, I have a thriving strawberry planter and a showstopper on my patio.

Easy peasy ways to make your room look bigger include:
🪄 Mirrors. Place them across from a window if you can. The light bounces, the room doubles. One large mirror does more than a gallery wall of small ones. Every time.
🪄 Curtains hung high and wide. The rod goes near the ceiling, not the window frame. And the panels extend past the window on both sides. It makes the window look bigger, the ceiling look higher, and the whole room feel intentional.
🪄 Rug size. If your rug is too small, your room looks smaller. All furniture legs on the rug, or at minimum the front legs. A rug that floats in the middle of a room with nothing touching it is the enemy.
None of these require a contractor. Just a measuring tape and a little shopping trip.
