My feed needed some color so what better way to brighten things up than to share a cake 🎂 This was my first attempt at #italianmeringuebuttercream using my new @kitchenaidusa stand mixer and overall I’d give myself a C- because I couldn’t get the texture right. This style of buttercream is so different than #americanbuttercream! Luckily I salvaged this batch enough create a cute birthday cake for my daughter. I’d call it a #nakedcake but a bit more “rustic” 🥳. Her birthday was yesterday. Her college roommates will threw her a big dorm party last night and when I delivered my cake was impressed with how they decorated to celebrate her day. Everything was adorable. 🎊 Today we celebrate with my granddaughter who turned 1 yesterday. I can’t wait for her first cake smash.
