Here are my top 6 tips for styling shelves in your home: •Start with the largest items first and then spread them out evenly throughout the shelf (or group of shelves). •Make sure to mix heights (tall and short items) as well as finishes (smooth, rough, shiny, matte) when choosing items to display. •Layer items as you go - push some items toward the back of the shelves and tuck smaller items closer to the front. •Create GROUPS of objects that go together - thinka cluster candlesticks or a stack of books. • Follow the rule of 3 (or 5) - when creating groups try to use an odd number of objects. •Make sure to step back and assess the composition as you go. Does it seem balanced? Does anything feel empty or too crowded? Keep adjusting until it feels right.
