Last year I spent way too much on Black Friday, buying into the hype that I needed “more”. This year I haven’t spent a dime. I’m learning the true meaning of being content. I’m realizing that I don’t want to waste my life and there’s certainly much more to it than clothes. Having a hard time believing it is Thanksgiving Week. It's time to reevaluate, to take a step back. In this social media saturated society, it is way too easy to compare yourself. To be dissatisfied with yourself, your clothes, looks, house.. you name it. That's not a place I want to be in, and not a place I want anyone to be in. So, I'm taking a step back and taking a break. Headed to New York for #nyfw on Wednesday and I'm so excited! (And a little nervous 😂) it's been a dream to see NYC and a dream to go to fashion week, it's almost surreal! We've been having car troubles this week, which can feel like the end of the world! But then I think of all those people in Texas who have lost everything, or who are in fear of losing everything, or definitely puts it into perspective. No matter what comes our way, good or bad, my heart must remain thankful and steadfast in Christ. Apart from prayer, what are some practical ways we can help those in Texas? This faux leather skirt gives me all the heart eyes! It is definitely a dressier piece, but I say there's nothing wrong with that! Just because I'm a mom doesn't mean I can't rock an outfit like this, and the same goes for you! I dressed it down a bit by pairing it with a t shirt and simple ankle boots.

A classic white tee is one of my favorite things to style. They're so clean and I love that they make colors pop more than black does. For me, a t shirt is one of those pieces I have lots of. Ankle booties are my absolute favorite thing to wear! They are a super good shoe option for mom life. Comfortable yet chic. They add a fun detail to your look, and can easily dress it up or keep it casual. So of course I had to include it in my #tbl_stylechallenge. As mom's it's easy for us to get stuck in a denim and sneakers rut! And why not? It's the most practical look when you're busy being a mom. But, today I wanted to challenge you guys to step out of that. To maybe get a little dressier, or just something different! // Today was CRAZY and the first day of the #tbl_stylechallenge that I didn't get a picture of my actual outfit 😭 but I promise I participated 😘 I wore a burgundy button dress with an olive cargo vest and new favorite heeled sandals from @current_boutique. Buuut we got home from church and then my husband left to hang with some friends and I had to change and rush off because I successfully threw him a surprise party for his birthday! Whoop whoop! #tbl_stylechallenge day 11 is 'Get out of your zone'. You may or may not know that every month I write a Fearless Friday post where I Style a piece that I've been afraid to try! I wanted you guys to do the same and coordinated the style challenge day to go along with my post for the month. My piece for this month was a denim pinafore (overall dress). You can read my thoughts on the trend tomorrow morning, but we were so enamored with our ice cream we didn't get too many outfit shots! Oops! But, I'm definitely stepping out of my zone by sharing this pic! That face 🙈 SODE NOTE : I think I am going to start sharing my #tbl_stylechallenge posts the night before, that way you can see the inspiration before you get dressed in the morning (since I'm so bad at sharing them early in the am!) This girl is my mini me. She is full of spunk and life. She is all girl yet tougher than any boy her age! She can hold her own and has no fear. She asks me daily to paint her fingernails and yet won't hesitate to "kill those bugs"! I adore her so much and am so grateful God blessed me with her! //
