Short girls should never wear long skirts. Poppycock. That rule shows up in almost every petite style guide and it’s nonsense. Good dressing isn’t about rules. It’s about proportion, balance, and intention. I love long skirts and dresses. I’m 5’5, and I wear them often. They feel elegant, feminine, and very much me. Personally I like to balance the volume. A long, wide skirt works beautifully with a more fitted top on a my frame. But I also know some people who look amazing in a more oversized look. The real problem with fashion “rules” is that they shrink us instead of giving us confidence.
