5 hero items in February

These are the items I’m wearing in repeat this month.

1. My black silk trousers by @lilysilk. Smart, flattering and translate very well from day to night.

2. A romantic blouse by @goelia_official. I’m in a frilly blouse mood at the moment and this one is perfect.

3. The mesh detailed top by @marcellanyc that I can style so many different ways.

4. My warm wool turtleneck jumper by @reiss. It has a really lovely structure for a knit. I’m basically living in it.

5. The wool blazer by @selfwhoofficial that’s allowing me to look put together and stay warm at the same time.

If you had to add one of them to your wardrobe, which one would you choose?

Fast fashion was keeping me poor.

I kept buying things that felt exciting for a moment, but rarely survived more than a few washes, and by then they were already out of fashion anyway.

My wardrobe filled up, but I never felt welldressed.
And the money kept disappearing into pieces that gave nothing back.

Individually the purchases were small.
Added together, not so much.

Once I actually calculated it, I realised I could have owned the pieces I truly wanted years earlier.

Chasing trends is exhausting. You never arrive, you barely keep up.

So I stopped telling myself it was all I could afford, and started buying less but better.

Let’s steal some elegant looks from Pinterest.

Do you think I did better with look 1, 2 or 3?

If I’m ever low in imagination when it comes to outfits and want a bit of new inspiration, I challenge myself to recreate looks I like on @pinterestuk with items from my own wardrobe.

It helps me think of new ways to wear the items I already have and I get new looks to my outfit library.

It’s really fun too, why don’t you give it a try?

The difference between a rich and a poor wardrobe.

It has to do with money, but not budget.

As an ex-shopaholic who has been slowly converting my poor fast fashion heavy wardrobe into one that is rich and filled with valuable pieces, I have picked up a few tips and tricks along the way.

The most important revelation is that the difference between the two comes down to time, energy and what we choose to buy more than how much money we actually have.

There are rich and poor ways of choosing and buying and it doesn’t have much to do with your actual budget.

If you want to know more about how I did it and take your wardrobe from rich to poor, just follow me and I will show you how.

What is your personal style saying about you?

First impressions are not just a handshake or whether you remember someone’s name. They begin much earlier than that.

We get clues about who someone is the moment they step into a room. Body language and what we choose to wear help people form expectations and understand how to place us.

This is another reason why it’s so important to know your personal style, so the first impression you give truly does you justice as a person.

A few more things I find terribly chic. 👌🏻

You can find part 1 on my feed from last week.

The things I find chic are not always items. They can also be very elegant quirks or behaviours that say something about a person.

The way someone carries themselves and interacts with the world around them can flatter how they come across in a way that clothes simply cannot.

This is why elegance is so much more than what’s on the outside, and often the difference between being well-raised and new money.

Some things money just can’t buy.

Can you think of a behaviour or manner you find terribly chic?

A week of English heritage inspired looks.

Sturdy boots, proper checks, freshly pressed white shirts and blouses, with a nod to the stables and a hint of granny chic.

Comfortable, presentable, and quietly confident. Does the job.

The best part? You don’t have to be British to wear it.

Short girls should never wear long skirts.

Poppycock.

That rule shows up in almost every petite style guide and it’s nonsense.

Good dressing isn’t about rules. It’s about proportion, balance, and intention.

I love long skirts and dresses. I’m 5’5, and I wear them often. They feel elegant, feminine, and very much me.

Personally I like to balance the volume. A long, wide skirt works beautifully with a more fitted top on a my frame. But I also know some people who look amazing in a more oversized look.

The real problem with fashion “rules” is that they shrink us instead of giving us confidence.

What’s a fashion rule you refuse to follow?

An intentional goal I’m setting for 2026 is to not let anyone else define what wealth is to me.

Somewhere in it all I feel we got a little lost.
Wealth is not all Birkin bags, super cars and splashing cash.

In reality, chasing these exact things often makes us lose the riches we already have - autonomy over our time and the freedom of choosing where and who we want to spend it with.

My philosophy for 2026 is to own less, but do more. I want to live a curated life where I romanticise all the little moments that are special to me.

Pick a few skills and hobbies, do them well. Choose a few very specific items for my wardrobe and wear them often. Embrace a few special people and cherish them truly.

The 3 goals I have set for myself for a wealthy life in 2026 is;

- Teach myself calligraphy.
- Take an intensive 3 day sommelier course.
- Go out on my first unaffiliated showjumping competition this spring.

How are you planning to live your wealthiest life in 2026?

Dinner in London in an outfit I haven’t worn since 2016
… guest feature - the children.

When doing the 2016 challenge I came across an outfit I used to love but stopped wearing and decided to see if I still had all the pieces to recreate it, I did!

The trousers are very much party at the front, serious at the back, and I love the movement when I walk or dance. A bit 70s almost.

We took the kids with us to @hawksmoorrestaurants in London to celebrate our friend @djay13_ birthday, he and @katie_d_33 travelled all the way from Scotland for the occasion.

We “restaurant train” our kids on a regular basis.
Yes,it was more inconvenient to bring them in the beginning, but it pays off as they are so very happy and easy going now. The biggest reason we do this is to make sure they feel at home and comfortable in every room when they grow up.

We always make them order for themselves, ask for the bill and to be friendly and polite with both other guests and the servers.

They also get to sniff our wines and try to figure out what smells they can pick out.
I see it as a great way to educate them in wine before they are old enough to drink, and also explain alcohol culture in a social and measured way to hopefully keep them from binge drinking in their teens.
It’s what my parents did with us and it worked for all 5 of us sisters so far!

What do you think, is the 2016 outfit a smash or should I leave it in the past?

My style moodboard for 2026, in motion.

I genuinely believe that if we don’t set an intention, things rarely change on their own. Style included.

That’s why I make moodboards. I sit down and properly think about what I’m drawn to at the moment, what I actually want to wear more of, and how I want my style to feel and how it will reflect who I am.

Then I go into my wardrobe and see how much of that I can already recreate, and where I might need to be more intentional going forward.

Is there one look here you’re more drawn to than the others?

Following trends is easy. Being original is what actually makes you memorable.

Copying what everyone else is wearing might feel safe, but it will never make you stand out. Great style isn’t about blending in. It’s about expressing something personal.

Most trends don’t start with a committee. They start with one person wearing something they genuinely love, in their own way. Then others notice. Then it gets copied. And suddenly it’s a “trend.”

I’d rather be the woman who wears exactly what she feels like wearing than the one doing copy and paste.

What’s the silliest trend you’ve seen recently?

Three elegant outerwear pieces that instantly elevate your wardrobe.

Is look 1, 2 or 3 your favourite?

If you can only invest in one truly good piece, make it outerwear. A great coat, trench or tweed jacket does more for how put together you look than almost anything else.

A well-cut coat can hide a multitude of sins. And try to look underdressed in a cropped tweed jacket, you simply cannot.

I would even argue that outerwear matters more than your handbag when it comes to elegance. And that’s good news, because you don’t need to spend handbag money to get a beautiful, high-quality coat.

Save this for when you start building your dream capsule wardrobe. 👌🏻

5 items I’m wearing on repeat in January

I always do my best to choose pieces I can wear for as much of the year as possible, but these are the ones I’m reaching for most this month.
	1.	This structured top by @fabrique.official. The epitome of an elevated basic - both comfortable and elegant.
	2.	A gold bangle by @mam that is the perfect understated statement. I love wearing it over jumper, shirt, and dress sleeves, and even on top of gloves.
	3.	My bag by @demellierlondon. The perfect small “big” bag. It fits a lot without looking bulky or overpowering.
	4.	Of course, my new @hermes riding boots (will I ever take them off?). The most comfortable way to look chic.
	5.	This 100% wool coat by @selfwhoofficial. The shape and details of this coat are perfection. It also proves you don’t need plastic to make a great coat.

3 things you should be doing right now to upgrade your style in 2026 💪🏻

January is the best time to start your wardrobe journey, And these are 3 things you should be doing right now to get on track to the year of your best style yet!

1. To start, we need to know what the end goal looks like. So you are going to moodboard your ultimate 2026 style. Don’t worry about budget, just try to match your lifestyle.

2. Now we need to clean the slate. With the risk of sounding a bit woo woo - At the end of the year if the snake comes the shedding. We need to get rid of the old that doesn’t align or fit to be a belt to grow into our new selves. And this happens through a wardrobe clear out. Get rid of anything you don’t love or that doesn’t fit your body or your lifestyle anymore.

3. Now we plan. After the clear out you should have a pretty good idea of what’s in your wardrobe. Now you need to bridge the gap between what you already own and your ultimate 2026 style. What could you add that will take your style closer to your moodboard?

Bonus points if you choose 12 items and start the #oneitemamonth challenge!

This will set you up incredibly well for the rest of the year and take you 3 steps closer to your dream wardrobe.

How fast fashion is keeping you poor.

This is one of the most important videos I have made.

It’s crucial to understand what fast fashion is and how it plays on our insecurities. Chasing trends and fearing being left behind is exactly what keeps us riding the carousel.

It’s supposed to be the cheaper option, but in reality it’s a false economy and ends up filling the pockets of the owners (and landfills). You might pay less per piece, but you end up buying far more items in the long run.

You can find quality pieces for the same price as the cheapest fast-fashion items when you shop pre-loved. So however you look at it, there is no financial upside.

Not to mention what it does to the environment.

If there is one thing that does not belong in 2026, it’s fast fashion.

A week of elegant looks for 2026.

This is the year you find your personal style, when you wear only things you truly love and you feel incredible in every outfit you step out in.

May you stop dressing for noise and start dressing for yourself.
May your wardrobe become calm, considered, and unmistakably yours.
May every piece you own earn its place and serve your life beautifully.

May you trust your eye, your taste, your timing.
May you no longer chase trends, but choose what lasts.
May getting dressed become a quiet ritual of respect for who you are and where you are going.

This is the year of clarity.
The year of intention.
The year you look in the mirror and recognise yourself.

It shall be.

Come with us – it’s @warrenmeliaxs’s birthday.

We both love shared experiences, so every year the other person plans a full day. This time, it was my turn.

I’ve been saving one of my favourite restaurants, @scottsmayfair, for Warren’s birthday because I know he loves seafood as much as I do. He had the prawns and loved them so much that I think it’s officially his favourite restaurant in London now.

After dinner, we went to see @mjthemusicaluk. We both love musicals and have been talking about this one for ages.

It was so cleverly done, and the fact that they found not one but three performers who all danced and sounded so much like Michael Jackson is honestly incredible.

If you’re in London, I highly recommend going to see it.

My first #OneItemAMonth purchase for 2026, and it’s a special one.

A pair of riding boots by Hermès (no, they’re not for actual riding, that’s just the name).

This piece has been on my wish list for ages, and I’ve been keeping an eye on the pre-loved market without much luck. As with many Hermès items, they sometimes even sell for more than they do in store.

Then, all of a sudden, these appeared, and within the budget I had mentally allocated for something truly special. I always keep a tally of money I haven’t spent in previous months, so it’s there when an opportunity like this comes up.

I’m over the moon with this purchase. The leather quality is exceptional, and the style is elegant and timeless.

A proper dream item.

What we got each other for our pre-loved Christmas challenge.

For the second year running, we set ourselves a £150 budget to find something pre-loved that the other person will genuinely love. No gift cards, no panic buys, just one really good piece.

It’s honestly become one of my favourite traditions. We start looking months in advance because we’re both quietly competitive and want to be the one who finds the best thing.

That’s the fun with pre-loved. You never really know what you’ll find for the budget, and being able to negotiate with private sellers means you can sometimes get something far better than you expected. Thoughtful, sustainable, and much more interesting than buying new.

I was on the hunt for a suede bomber for Warren as it felt like such a good addition to his spring wardrobe, so I was very pleased when I found this one from @reiss. The colour and texture work so well, and it instantly elevates the whole look.

And then under the tree for me… these from @polene_paris . I don’t wear earrings often, so I’m quite particular about shape, and he absolutely nailed it.

How do you think we did?

Three different ways to do elegance in 2026.

Which one feels most like you: 1, 2 or 3?

Elegance isn’t really a “style” in itself. It’s about how a look is put together, the intention behind it, and the care you take with the details when you get dressed. You can look elegant in many different ways, depending on the occasion.

January is the perfect time to start cultivating the habit of caring about the small details. To take a moment to set an intention of listening inwards when we get dressed and really only wear what we love and feel amazing in.

I’m personally a mix of all three of these styles, just worn at different moments.

✨Happy New Year, my loves.✨

Ending the year grateful for this community. For the thoughtful messages, the warmth, and those of you who quietly lurk (I see you, and I appreciate you). You’ve made this a genuinely pleasant corner of the internet, which feels no small thing given the state of the world.

Thank you for reminding me, daily, that there are still decent people out there. I’m very excited to see what 2026 brings. I have a feeling it may be an extraordinary year.

5 things we’re leaving behind as we enter 2026.

I don’t know about you, but to me 2026 already feels like a much more mature and structured year than 2025.

A year of making clever, informed choices based on self knowledge, experience and calm knowing.

It makes sense to leave the trend carousel and paying premium for good marketing and subpar quality behind. We are much too clever to fall for it now.

Instead it’s a year to lift individuality, start choosing from logic instead of emotion and celebrate our own small eccentricities.

Layering in winter does not have to be repetitive.

As a Scandi girl, I have spent my fair share of days battling a cold climate.

It is easy to give up and throw on the same massive coat every day, turning into a walking sleeping bag.

And that is totally fine if it is your vibe. However, there are many clever ways to layer that add variation, which can sometimes feel tricky to achieve in winter.

I have popped a few of my favourite ones in this reels.

Let’s steal elegant winter outfits from Pinterest.

Do you prefer look 1, 2, or 3?

Whenever I lack a bit of imagination, I turn to Pinterest and find looks that inspire me. Then I challenge myself to recreate them using items I already own.

It’s such a creativity starter. I always feel far more inspired by my wardrobe after forcing myself to look at it properly and figure out how to put these outfits together.

If you are feeling a bit stuck in a style rut, I highly recommend to give it a go.

I especially liked look number 1 today, and I think I’ll be re-wearing it very soon.

Warren has a new suit and needed an occasion to show it off, so we decided to go into London for some last-minute Christmas shopping.

And yes, we decided to go completely matching. Because why not? (Picking out this suit from @suitsupply was one of his highlights of 2025.)

First stop was @harrods, both for some stocking fillers and a few selected bits of delicious food for Christmas Day.

As I knew I needed him in a good mood for later, our second stop was the newly opened @thechanceryrosewood hotel for a @pomellespritz and a sour. It’s such a stunning venue, and we’ve already made it a regular whenever we go into town.

Last stop: @thediamond.lab. I’ve been a very good girl this year, and sometimes Santa needs a little nudge.

Now that we don’t live in London anymore, we make sure that each time we go in is really special. We take the opportunity to dress up and visit our very favourite places.

I truly believe that romanticising life makes you happier.
