Do you prefer to savor one book for an extended period of time, or do you tend to fly through your reads pretty quickly? 💨

Normally, I would say that I fly through books—inhaling them more than savoring them 😅 But lately, I’ve been spending more time with my stories and really diving into them, getting to know the characters and the world even better! 🙌🏼

There’s something nice about slowing down and reading little bits at a time, sometimes even discussing them with a friend, reading more, theorizing about the plot, then reading a little more, etc. 🤎 It feels good to appreciate the book rather than gobbling it up (though who knows how long this “savor it” mindset will last 😆)

How do you organize your bookshelves? 📚

When I first started my bookstagram, I owned maybe 20 books total and they were all from my childhood and teen years 🙈 Since I’m someone who has always used the library rather than purchasing books, I just didn’t have a lot of books in my possession 🤷🏻‍♀️ As I’m sure you can guess, that has changed a lot over the last 4 years 😂

Now I have 3 bookshelves full of my favorite stories (since I still only buy them after I’ve read them and loved them enough to read again in the future) and there are books in other random places in my home that have been sent from publishers or gifted by authors 😍 I organize them ALL by color 🌈

🌱 Akarnae - after reading and adoring The Prison Healer trilogy (and rereading and still adoring it this year), I knew I wanted to go through the author’s previous books and this series sounds so cool.

I know mine certainly isn’t 🙈 No question about it, Bring Me Your Midnight is absolutely the most romantic book I’ve read over the last several years 😍 I read my fair share of swoony novels, but the quotes in this one have my whole heart 🫶🏼

🐺 sexy werewolves (yeah yeah I know that’s not a real scent but we’re gonna roll with it, okay? 😋)

As a kid, I was a huge fan of mystery series and gobbled them up whenever I found a new one that I loved and that didn’t feel totally predictable 🙈 When I began to search for them as an adult, I felt a little let down because it seemed like everything leaned towards thriller rather than just mystery, and I didn’t love the creepy element at all 😅

Several years ago, I watched and loved Knives Out, and when I saw someone say that The Inheritance Games was like a YA book version of that movie, I knew I had to read it right away! 🙌🏼 It quickly became one of my favorite series and I’ve seriously enjoyed each and every book that has come out 📚 I can’t wait for The Grandest Game to be in my hands later this year ♣️

THE UNMAKING OF JUNE FARROW blew me away! 💨 I was anticipating enjoying it but definitely not expecting to fall in love with it the way I did 🤎 It combined historical fiction with magical realism and the mystery woven throughout made it impossible to put down once I started it 🙈 It instantly went on my 23 favorites in 2023 list and I truly can’t wait to read it again in the future 🙌🏼

I've already put together my January TBR 🙈 I kicked off 2023 with only rereads in the first month of the year and it was the best start ever, so I'm doing the same thing this coming January 🙌🏼

I'm also starting to think about what I want on my Priority 24 TBR in the new year 📚 I'm sure it'll include some upcoming releases as well as a few that are on my backlist... and maybe a couple of rereads as well! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm already getting so excited for what I'll get to read and December isn't even over yet 😂
