Eep!! Target is SO good right now. I went down the kitchen aisle for “one thing” and somehow found an entire cozy kitchen refresh. The warm woods, smoky glass, matte black details… I mean COME ON. These pieces look so much more expensive than they are and instantly give that collected, moody designer feel I’m always chasing. It’ not just a place to sit, it’s an entire room dedicated to being a family! What a wonderful idea, right?! We love to stock ours with games, both board and video, loads of blankets, the fluffier the better, (and plenty of places to stash extras, like an ottoman and baskets) and lots of fluffy pillows to lounge on. The sofa MUST be soft, the coffee table never too precious, and the more family photos the better. A candle (or diffuser!) is always a good idea. You want this space to smell like a
warm hug... and cake! Don’t forget a soft rug under foot. The family room should be a place designed for making memories, cuddles, slow evenings, a big tv, and, eventually... the Christmas tree!
