I cannot get over how much I love the way this coffee table came together! It’s the perfect example of modern luxury—elevated, sculptural, and totally effortless. I styled it with some of my favorite design books, organic decorative spheres, and a sculptural candleholder to create a mix of texture, form, and contrast. Eep!! Target is SO good right now. I went down the kitchen aisle for “one thing” and somehow found an entire cozy kitchen refresh. The warm woods, smoky glass, matte black details… I mean COME ON. These pieces look so much more expensive than they are and instantly give that collected, moody designer feel I’m always chasing. Linking all of my favorites because I have a feeling these are going to go FAST!

It’ not just a place to sit, it’s an entire room dedicated to being a family! What a wonderful idea, right?! We love to stock ours with games, both board and video, loads of blankets, the fluffier the better, (and plenty of places to stash extras, like an ottoman and baskets) and lots of fluffy pillows to lounge on. The sofa MUST be soft, the coffee table never too precious, and the more family photos the better. A candle (or diffuser!) is always a good idea. You want this space to smell like a
warm hug... and cake! Don’t forget a soft rug under foot. The family room should be a place designed for making memories, cuddles, slow evenings, a big tv, and, eventually... the Christmas tree!

Lately I’ve been musing on what actually makes a home feel cozy.

I don’t think it’s a particular color palette or decorating style. It’s the glow of a fire at the end of the day. A few candles flickering on the mantel. Branches clipped from outside and dropped into a favorite vase. Books stacked on the coffee table that have actually been read and collected over time.

Maybe that’s why I love this room so much. It feels dramatic and beautiful, but also like somewhere you’d curl up and stay awhile.

As we head into fall, I’m craving less “decorating for the season” and more creating moments that feel like the season. #HouseOfValentina
