Pantry design plans: I want to add base cabinets which will hide some of the not so cute things. The side ones will likely need to be more of an open concept bc of the door frame around this area.

I went back and forth on whether or not to wallpaper or paint (or tile!) and I landed on paneling in a high gloss. I plan to use London clay which I already have in the powder room and LOVE!

A rainy gloomy day called for candles and lamps (and I was totally okay with that!)

Y’all...I may have peaked with this FBMP find!!!

A couple weeks ago I missed out on a giant floor mirror at an estate sale by literal minutes. I was so mad at myself for letting it slip away, but as it often goes, there was a better option right around the corner.

In a redemption fueled FBMP search that went well into the night, I found this beauty and it’s even better than the original one I had my eye on. The seller had purchased it from an antique dealer (who bought it at an estate sale) but it didn’t work in his new home.

It stands 8 feet tall, and I just love how the copper color pops against the dark green walls! It was meant to be!

If you recently had one that got away I know how frustrating it is. But almost every time a better option is right around the corner - just keep looking! Has this happened to you too?!

A new secondhand find will always shift the rhythm of a shelf.

These Staffordshire dogs felt right the second I brought them home, but the niche needed a reshuffle to make them sing.

I’ll say it forever:
Old + new is what makes a home feel collected.

Too much vintage → museum.
Too much new → showroom.
The balance is where the magic lives.

When I style shelves, I’m always thinking about:
• Structure (coffee table books are key)
• Height variation (always add a lamp!)
• Depth behind the objects (that grasscloth wallpaper was the game changer)

I painted my dark, speckled granite countertops to look like faux marble.

Sixteen months ago.

Since then, I’ve heard:
– It will chip
– It will stain
– It won’t last

I addressed those in the video, but let’s talk about a few more:

“It won’t feel like marble.”
It’s still stone underneath, so it’s cool to the touch and the epoxy topcoat gives it a smooth finish.

“You ruined perfectly good granite.”
Living with something I hated while saving to replace it would have felt like the real waste. I chose to repurpose instead of rip out.

“Has it yellowed?”
Mine hasn’t, including the section above the dishwasher. I can’t speak for every kit, but 16 months in, no yellowing here.

A couple years ago I tested every brass tone on the same knob so I could see the difference side-by-side, and I always come back to this video.

Some are warm and vintage. Some lean antique and moody. Some are bright and almost polished.

A quick tip: the undertone matters more than you think when you’re pairing with wood, paint colors, or existing fixtures. My favorite combo is starting with a black base and topping with a combo of European Gold + Gold Leaf (yes you can mix them!). It gives a more patina look with the dark base.

Save this before your next hardware refresh — it’ll save you a second trip to the store.

Some pops of pink for Valentine’s Day in one of my most collected spaces.

I knew these pink cherry blossoms would be perfect in this room (I have 12 styled here) and I love how they connect with the pinks in my rug, artwork and bookshelf decor to create a color thread throughout the space.

The living room is quickly evolving to be one of my favorite rooms, as I think it strikes the perfect balance of old meets new. This room will be on the 2026 project list and I have a feeling it will be my most extensive molding project yet. I’m still in the dreaming phase but I’m fantasizing about some ceiling trim, wall moldings, an extra large ceiling medallion and adding some dentil work to my existing crown molding. Plus a new paint color!

Should we do this room first?!
