I thought the home office was done… until I actually tried working in it.

Turns out “beautiful natural light” isn’t so beautiful when it’s hitting your screen every afternoon. The GE Smart Shades by @gelighting were the missing piece. They still let in that soft, diffused light but actually make the space usable when the sun shifts. And I can control them with the push of a button (or honestly, just ask my smart assistant). They’re quiet, streamlined, and do the heavy lifting in the background without stealing the show.

Raise your hand if you accidentally turned your house into a white box 🙋‍♀️

When I bought this place, it was chaos. I didn’t have a vision yet but I knew I had to undo everything before I could think clearly.

So I did what a lot of us do… I painted everything white.

And honestly? I followed a trend.
It wasn’t me.

But that phase taught me something I couldn’t have skipped: what doesn’t feel right is just as important as what does.

So now I’m going back room by room with a 2.0 mindset:
→ more color
→ more contrast
→ more personality
→ more me

Less “is this in style?”
More “does this feel right?”

I’m starting my first white box flip of 2026—and it’s going to be a good one.

THIS is why your mulch never lasts.

Last year I had my front yard professionally landscaped, and I noticed something that completely changed how I’ll do mulch going forward…

When I went to blow leaves in the fall, the leaves came off but the mulch didn’t move at all.

I knew immediately I needed to figure out how to recreate that.

This year I’m using @petramaxlockscape and it locks everything in place so all that work actually lasts. Honestly, the leaf blower test alone sold me.

Order has been restored in the dressing room. If you missed it I recently had a moth scare which was anxiety inducing, but it also gave me the push to clean out and reorganize this space.
