If it’s ugly: paint it. Last fall while I was renovating my kitchen, I decided to transform my dark speckled granite countertops into a white carrara marble finish simply by painting them! It took me three base coats of white primer, and then I added “veining” by dragging a skinny paint brush dipped in charcoal grey paint and misting it with water for a feathered effect. But won’t they get damaged? That’s where the epoxy topcoat comes in. The epoxy adds a shine and protects the new “marble” from everyday kitchen use. I’m almost one year into using mine and they’ve been holding up great! The countertop kits have everything you need from start to finish.
