This week I celebrated my 52nd birthday and someone asked me how I feel about getting older.

To be honest, it’s a love/hate thing.

I’m loving the perspective that comes with age. I love knowing what truly matters and what doesn’t. But I do not love living through the lessons required to gain that perspective.

As we navigate yet another “major life stressor” in our household this year, I’m reminded of one of the most profound lessons I’ve learned over the last decade:

It can always, always, 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 be worse.

I do not say so in a dismissive way or as a reason to ignore hard things. Only as a reminder to myself that perspective is a gift.

One that’s really hard to accept at times, but a gift nonetheless.

So shut up, Buttercup, put on some cute shoes and show up for your life. 💛

It’s messy, imperfect, and sometimes painful.

But it’s still your life.

And it really is a gift to exist.

The AFTER ✨

I tried a new-to-me customizable cleaning service through Homeaglow and this is exactly why I wanted to give it a shot. Instead of paying for a generic house cleaning, I was able to choose how much time I wanted and prioritize the things I actually needed help with.

She tackled both bedrooms and bathrooms, the living and dining rooms, entryway, windows and all the usual cleaning, but also handled some of those little jobs that somehow stay on my list forever. She even took down and rehung my shower curtain and carefully dusted all of the dinnerware in my dining room cabinet. 🙌

Everything feels fresh again, and having someone come in specifically to knock out the areas I wanted done made SO much more sense for me than committing to another regular cleaning schedule.

And yes, Charlie is already working diligently to undo the clean front door windows. 😂

Trying a customizable cleaning service for the first time and I have to say… this is exactly the kind of help I’ve been looking for. 🙌

I’ve had the same house cleaner for nearly 20 years, but as she’s started scaling back, I’ve realized how helpful it would be to have another option I can use as needed, starting at $19/hr!

I was able to choose how long I wanted the cleaner here, what I wanted her to focus on, and even add on specific tasks depending on what my house needed most. I’ve been trying the RevAir and I get it now. It dries and smooths your hair at the same time, so you don’t have to do the whole round brush situation.

It’s especially amazing for textured or curly hair, but it works so well on any hair type. My hair is straight and fine and it still made it look so smooth and polished.

This is exactly what I do:
• Section your hair
• Insert + hold for about 60 seconds
• Slowly pull down
• Repeat

It’s honestly so easy. My hair looks soft, smooth, and actually feels healthier after using it.

My weekly reset for complicated skin + hair 🛁
