Do you really need to pack a travel hair dryer? It depends. If you have great hair naturally, you can probably leave it at home, but many of us know better than to trust hotel dryers, and that means packing our own. Yes, it takes up space. It's a trade-off I've made peace with. Here's the most important thing to know before you buy one: it must be dual voltage. Dual voltage means the appliance adjusts internally to international electrical requirements, so you don't need a bulky, ineffective voltage converter. I have three I can confidently recommend: Dyson Travel Dryer — If you're a Dyson loyalist, you'll love the performance. Just know it's on the heavier side with a cord situation that's a little cumbersome. Better suited for a larger bag than a carry-on. BaByliss (my go-to) — It folds down, it's lightweight, and it actually dries your hair. This is the one I reach for every trip. Perfect for carry-on travelers. Brush Dryer — A little bulky, but here's the trade-off: leave your round brush at home. If you're a brush-dry person, this is a smart swap.
