Put your hand up if you’ve ever been personally victimized by paint stripper 🙋‍♀️

I don’t know if it’s user error but I never get the satisfying scrape like the furniture flippers do, just a sticky gooey mess 🫠

My scraper however never lets me down 😏

If it’s a flat surface I’m stripping, I will always reach for this guy first because it saves me so much time and messy clean up.

My husband could NOT see the vision with this one 😂 but I could and it was a FREE FB marketplace find so it came home and now it’s my new project 💁‍♀️

It’s solid wood so I’m envisioning a dark stain but all those little intricate details are going to be a painnnn to sand 🥲 painting would be so much easier!

🤯 @bonesandbuilds reminded me of my first proper DIY project I the other day and I realized that only 1% you were actually here to see it! 🤯

My entryway transformation was controversial for a few reasons, I had never picked up a saw before but I wanted to build a custom closet, I painted over my old slate tile floors andddd I drenched the entire room in black. 👀

Sure some of my decisions may be seen as unusual but every risk I took in this space was worth it imo! I started this room knowing nothing about DIY and came out the other end not only with a space that’s beautiful but that reminds me every day that I am more capable than I know.

Now I have a whole page dedicated to that exact message! I want other beginners to trust in their creativity and try something new. You never know what it will unlock! ✨

I made these terracotta plant tags for my biggest DIY project yet, a Mediterranean garden made from concrete blocks - haven’t seen it? Check out my page, it’s pinned to the top! ☺️🌿🌸

I wanted a simple way to keep track of all my little seedlings this spring, but I also had a couple of requirements: they needed to feel as elegant as the rest of my garden, and I needed something I could make quickly and affordably. These clay tags ticked all the boxes!

Once sealed, the clay is durable and weather-resistant, so they won’t rot like wooden tags and I love that I can keep adding to my collection as my garden grows.

I was told to run a pipe across my yard 😬 so I built a river instead ✨

When I swapped our downspout for a rain chain, I knew proper drainage still mattered.
I just didn’t want the solution to be an eyesore.

So I created a dry river bed to guide water away from the house, protect our foundation, and turn a practical problem into something intentional (and a little magical 🥹💧🌿).

No heavy machinery, just a spade, an old pond liner, and some rocks. A functional solution that happens to look like a whimsical river 😍

The internet was CONVINCED my house would flood if I swapped my downspout for a rain chain…
…but it was my old downspout that actually CAUSED water damage 😶🥲

Rain chains can work just as well as downspouts when they’re used correctly.
Here’s how to know if one is right for your home 🌧️

A rain chain is great if:
✅ Your ground is graded away from the house
✅ Water is directed intentionally (rain barrel, drain, or stone)
✅ You want something functional and beautiful

Not ideal if:
❌ Water pools near your foundation
❌ Drainage is poor and unmanaged
❌ Water needs to be moved far away ~without~ an extension

The big difference?
Downspouts are super easy to extend but let’s be honest, a giant pipe running across your yard isn’t exactly pretty 😬😅

Rain chains can be extended too, just without the eyesore.
I went all-in with the most whimsical option and built a dry river bed… because who doesn’t want their very own river 🥹💧✨

👏 Just because it’s old, doesn’t mean you have to keep it! 🫠

Yep, I removed my vintage cast iron stove… it had to go 🤷‍♀️ Here’s why:

Those 60-year-old electrical components were a literal fire hazard! every time it was plugged in, the entire house would short-circuit and lose power! Nothing is worth risking my family’s safety for, not even vintage pieces.

Don’t worry, it’s not gone forever: a lovely lady on Facebook Marketplace is restoring it for her mountain cabin. 🏡💗 Around here, we don’t throw things away, even if we don’t want it, someone else usually does. Being wasteful is never the vibe.

And for anyone worried about the giant hole in the wall, fear not! I embraced the space and filled it with candles for the holidays! I was so intimidated to decorate this huge shelf and in the end I broke every rule and just went with my gut, no odd numbers, no perfect little vignettes, instead I packed this baby FULL of things that intrigue or inspire me. Some pieces have deep meaning, and some are simply pretty to look at and honestly? That’s okay too 😂🫶

Everybody told me I was making a huge mistake painting my small entryway a dark color… 😩

But the only thing I actually regret is letting other people’s opinions sway me in the first place.
If you have an idea in your head, trust your gut and just try it. It’s your home, the only opinions that matter are from the people who live in it! 🫶

My entryway is moody, cozy, and a thousand times more inviting to me than a bright space ever would’ve been. And this black paint? It has the most beautiful copper undertones. Paired with warm walnut stain and brass finishes… the whole space feels rich, luxurious, and full of depth.

Sometimes the “wrong” choice ends up being the perfect one. 🖤✨

✨ DIY Amber Ornament Tutorial ✨👇

1. Pop off the top of the ornament so you can get to the inside
2. Add a few drops of alcohol ink — the more you add, the richer the color will be
3. Swirl the ink around the ornament, keeping it moving until it’s completely dry for that smooth, blown-glass look
4. Use cool air from a hairdryer to speed up this process while you continue swirling
5. (Optional) Paint the ornament tops gold to compliment those warm amber tones
