This year, my first born, Laila, started kindergarten. This was such an emotional transition for me. Since she was born, she has always been home with me. This is literally the cutest project I have ever done! They are so easy to make and they only need three things! You start with 36“ x 4“ mailing tubes. You use card stock and mod podge to make the labels and lids! I also sprayed mine with a shiny seal afterwards. I knew I wanted to create a “toddler snack shelf” in our pantry and these roll out cabinet drawers made it so easy to create! Every year, my mom throws a Halloween party for all of the grandkids and this year I was put in charge of making the party favors! I decided to do Halloween stacks that included a Halloween themed book, a pair of Halloween pajamas, Halloween craft, a case of candy, a Halloween pet and a Halloween flag! The grandkids are a wide range of ages from a newborn all the way up to an 11 year old. The stacks worked great because I could customize each of them to be age friendly based off of each kid’s age! I really felt like I made Laila‘s dreams come true with this birthday theme… which was worth all the work and stress! This year I tried using foam cutouts instead of using plywood backdrops and it was so much easier! You can even customize them to match your theme. The team at Fathead was so helpful at designing these for Laila‘s birthday party and they turned out exactly how I wanted! Plus, they are so lightweight and easy to carry and store away. They also have slots in the back so you can tie fishing wire to them to hold them down so that they don’t fall over or blow away… An issue I always had with my plywood arches! Laila‘s aunt surprised her with her very own ride on Barbie Jeep, which was the chef’s kiss for the party! I am officially done with planning kids birthday parties for the year… And boy am I relieved! How cool are these kids safe materials?! I had no idea that rubber pavers were a thing, I also didn’t know that faux rock edging was a thing! The faux rock edging comes in a bunch of different colors and heights too! It’s safe to weed whack and it’s safe for the elements. The rubber pavers were a great alternative to putting in brick in the kids picnic areas and water table area because it is safer if they fall. I was also so excited when I found fall safe rubber tiles that make climbing areas safer.
