I really enjoy stuffing stockings. I’m convinced just aren’t many affordable toys that are stocking size, that won’t be raged cleaned in a couple months. I’ve definitely learned to simplify and focus on practical things or consumable things.

I got the Cozy Christmas coloring book m at Target & my 7 year old & I colored in it a ton today! They have a ton of themes and would fit great in stocking. The markers are a Black Friday buy, but they’re alcohol based and not washable, so better for older kids! They have a thick and a thin end.

No crap sticking stuffers are back, baby!

And....I'm just going to say it, sometimes I think stockings can get out of control with amount of things AND price points. I always remind myself that stockings aren't the star of the show. I try to keep ours practical & not filled with junk filler toys. Hopefully some of these ideas help!

Stockings are my favorite thing to fill! But, I’m telling you, filling them with things you’re going to buy anyway, is the way to go! I try not to put “gifts” in stockings, but make them smaller & useful things.

I’d argue that most of the toys we build with are the ones I plan to hang on to for years to come…dare I say even for grandkids?

There are some well loved toys in this group! An honorable mention goes out to Lincoln Logs. I shockingly do not own them, but my parents kept ours and my kids play with them at their house.

Now, @samsclub vs. Nugget couch. We own both & both are comparable as far as function! The Nugget couch material is a maybe little softer & the cushions are slightly firmer than the Sam’s couch. They also have more neutral color options. Both have covers that unzip and can be machine washed! I’ve washed them MANY times after kids have 🤮 them & they’ve both held up well!

All in all, I’d call it a win for my 3 year old!

My girls that did this are 2 & 3. I think a bigger kid could be even more entertained!

Grade up for bigger kids:
•Make it smaller scale - use a sheet of paper or a piece of cardboard from a box!
•Bring in glue, pom Poms, glitter(😅) or other fun things to decorate the sections . Even just more paint colors or puffy paint where they could make designs

Grade down for little kids:
•Bigger scale - big piece of posterboard or cardboard! You could even tape it out on concrete and use sidewalk chalk!
• Limit paint color options. Let the kids just pick 2-3 colors
