I know working from home can make it tempting to stay in loungewear all day.

But I’ve realized something over the past few years…

When I dress like the woman I want to become, I show up as her.

This has become my favorite summer work uniform:
• A fitted cotton-cashmere tank
• Comfortable ponte trousers with an elastic waistband (they honestly feel like pajamas 🤭)
• One statement accessory
• A quick blowout
• My simple everyday makeup

The entire outfit is comfortable enough to wear all day, but polished enough that I immediately feel more productive, focused, and confident.

It’s amazing how much our environment—and what we wear—can influence our mindset.

In the summer, the easiest way to look polished while staying cool is to reach for tailored pieces.

Think a well-structured vest with beautiful buttons, pleated shorts (pro tip: pinstripes elongate), a breezy cotton pintucked-waist dress with a crisp collar, a pointed-toe flat or pump that sharpens the whole look. Pieces with structure keep a warm-weather outfit looking elegant, especially in the kind of heat that makes you want to wilt.

I’ve had dark circles for as long as I can remember.

I wasn’t sleep-deprived. I wasn’t sick. I was simply born with them.

And after 40, when we naturally begin to lose volume around the eyes, that darkness can become even more pronounced because the tear trough creates additional shadow.

After years of trial and error, I realized the biggest mistake I used to make was adding more and more concealer when my under-eyes still looked tired. I learned the answer isn’t more product. It’s better placement, better blending, and *less* product overall.

Here are the keys that made the biggest difference for me:

• Always prep the area first. I use hydrating eye patches before makeup to plump and smooth the skin. I also love eye creams with vitamin C and caffeine. And drink enough water! It really does make a huge difference in your face overall.

• Color correct before concealer. This is non-negotiable. A corrector neutralizes the darkness so the concealer can do its work.

• Use the smallest amount of product possible. I actually scrape excess product off the applicator before applying.

• Let each layer sit for a few minutes before blending. This improves coverage and longevity.

• Focus product placement on the tear trough and surrounding shadow—not directly into the under-eye crease.

• Blend outward, upward, and around the orbital bone to create a brighter, more lifted effect. And tap, tap, tap the product in gently with your concealer brush.

• Remove any product that settles into the lower lash line crease before setting. Tap lightly with a Q-tip so you don’t create harsh lines of demarcation.

• Set everything with the lightest dusting of loose powder.

Unbothered IS the new chic.

In my quest to do LESS, remove anything that makes me feel insecure, annoyed or sucks my precious time, I stopped going to the nail salon. Completely.

I don’t even polish my nails anymore.

Gel mani/pedis were damaging my nails, and eating my time and money. And if I was being really honest, saving my nails was keeping me from doing things I really love.

Under-eye: DRMTLGY Luminous Eye Corrector with SPF in Tan + Kosas Corrector in Fantasy + Laura Mercier brightening powder in Golden. Start with DRMTLGY corrector/SPF lightly applied all over under eyes. Follow with tiny dots of Kosas at inner eye corner, outer eye corner, & darkest areas. Let sit for 1-2 mins then spread with light strokes. Allow to dry, then set with light dusting of LM brightening powder.

Face: Drmtlgy MatteTinted SPF + Elaluz illuminating primer in Show Stopper.

Contour: Sale contour in Swim.

Cheeks: Chanel Les Beiges in Intense Coral (a little goes a long way!)—let that dry. Blend all your face, eyes, then top off cheeks with Stila Lilium before setting spray.
