Spring Workwear + Weekend Looks in My Cart

Spring outfits I’m actually shopping for as an almost 40-year-old, 6’3” tall girl. 🌷
Think: wide leg jeans, tall-friendly denim, gingham tops, red accents, fun sneakers, business casual workwear, lightweight sweaters, chic backpacks, and everyday bags that make sense for real life.
This is my mix of spring work outfits, vacation outfits, and easy weekend denim looks — all pieces I can wear on repeat.
If you’re tall and building a spring capsule wardrobe, this is a good place to start.

OOTD 🤍
What I wore today — keeping it simple and wearable.
Barrel jeans + winter boots + an easy layered top. These jeans are such a good everyday fit and the boots make it feel a little more winter-ready without trying too hard.

HeyNuts Workout Pro Leggings – 31” inseam
These are supposed to be similar to the Lululemon Glow Up Leggings — think very high-waisted, strong compression, and that waist-contour detail that actually holds you in.
But here’s the part that caught my attention:
👉 an extra 3” in the inseam.

Should I check them out and report back?

#LTKMidsize #LTKTall #LTKPlusSize
This is a good example of intentional ankle length.
There’s a difference between cropped and unintentionally short. These hit at the narrowest part of the ankle, which keeps the silhouette clean. Pairing them with a heeled boot eliminates awkward spacing and maintains length through the leg.
The longer cardigan creates vertical balance — especially important at my height — and keeps the look from feeling choppy.
When you understand proportion, trends feel less risky.

#LTKMidsize #LTKSaleAlert #LTKTall
Typing ‘tall’ into the search bar like it’s a prayer 🫣
At 6’3”, proportion is everything. A wide cropped pant only works if it reads intentional — high enough above the ankle to feel styled, not like it shrank in the wash.
This pair has structure through the leg so it doesn’t collapse, and the slightly boxy jacket balances the volume without shortening my torso. Sleeve length matters here — if they were an inch shorter, the whole look would feel off.
When the proportions are right, you don’t have to convince yourself it works.

#LTKPlusSize #LTKMidsize #LTKTall
Step 1: Filter for “tall.”
Step 2: Lower expectations.
That’s usually the routine.
This blazer, though, was a rare win. The retailer has historically been tall-friendly, and after a brief period where their tall options noticeably scaled back, they’ve relaunched their extended sizing — and their workwear has been especially strong.
The sleeves fully reach my wrists (non-negotiable), the torso length feels balanced, and the tailoring doesn’t rely on width to compensate for height. And yes — it’s machine washable. I hang dry and it holds its structure beautifully, which makes it practical for real life.
The tie-neck blouse is thrifted via Poshmark. As more brands quietly reduce tall inventory, resale has become one of the most reliable ways to source longer lengths — especially from labels that used to carry tall consistently.
The barrel pants are from the same retailer as the blazer. The crop is intentional and hits at the ankle rather than hovering awkwardly mid-shin — a critical distinction at 6’3”.
And the boots? A clearance section accident so affordable I didn’t even realize they were in my cart when I checked out with groceries.
Tall doesn’t mean settling.
It means being strategic.

I spotted these floral print barrel jeans from Old Navy and had to grab them — immediately! 😍
I’m 6’3”, 39, and usually go between a size 6 and 8 in pants. I like oversized fits for comfort, but still want to feel cute — we’re living in that age of looking put together but cozy, right? 😉
The jeans have a classic barrel fit with a wide leg and tapered ankle. I paired mine with a navy floral high-neck blouse, my trusty leather belt, and heeled Chelsea boots. Oversized cardigan for the top layer because cozy is life.

Quick heads up: I ordered these in a size 6, but they fit like the size 8 in the waist from the dark wash I already had.
Totally wearable with a belt, but if you like a more fitted look, I’d size down 1–2.
Barrel jeans can feel “controversial” since ankle-length is so popular, but trust me — the shape is flattering whether you’re curvy or straight like me. Props to Old Navy for stepping up their denim game lately! 🙌🏼
I loved styling these for a slightly Boho, age-appropriate look while keeping them fun for everyday wear and even a casual date night outfit 💛
Have you tried barrel jeans yet? Would you size up, down, or stick to your usual? I wanna hear!
I share all my outfits for tall girls over on Instagram @one_tall_order — come join the fun!

I’ve been loving what I’m seeing from Banana Republic lately — their barrel, flare, and wide-leg jeans now come in up to a 35” inseam 🙌🏼
Banana Republic denim always feels premium — structured, substantial, and elevated. These are the kind of jeans you can style for a polished date night outfit with heels, or keep casual for everyday wear.
Tall-friendly, high-quality, and versatile — what’s not to love?

This is what happens when I build an outfit around one piece.
I had no plan — just knew I wanted to wear this oversized reversible sherpa bomber.
It has that slightly retro feel and I wanted to wear it open so the lining showed. Once I committed to that shape — oversized, relaxed, volume on top — everything else had to balance it.
Next came the wide-leg plaid trousers.
They’re long. They puddle. They’re dramatic.
So now we have:
– oversized jacket
– very wide leg pants
Which could easily go sloppy.
That’s where the structure came in.
I added:
– a cropped cotton tee that hits right at the waistband (not shorter, not longer)
– pointed toe Chelsea boots to visually narrow the leg line
– a simple round belt to pull together the browns and warm tones
The tee is slightly oversized, but because it’s cropped, it keeps the proportions clean.
Every length hits exactly where it should — and at 6’3”, that’s not accidental.
This felt comfortable, polished enough for work, but still easy.
You could swap the bomber for a blazer and instantly elevate it.
I’m 6’3”, wearing a medium on top and a 28 in trousers for reference.
Would you wear this as-is, or would you change one thing?

What’s in my cart at GAP right now 👀
If you’re building a date night outfit, pulling looks for Valentine’s outfits, planning beach vacation pieces, or just refreshing your travel outfits, this is a good time to look.
There’s a lot happening:
• New denim drops
• Extra 50% off sale
• +10% off full-price (non-clearance)
• Some MAJOR clearance finds
I have way too many jeans saved (no regrets), a few tall blouses, some crop tops that actually hit right, and more denim than I probably need. If you’re looking for extra-long inseams, GAP continues to be such an ally for tall girls. The tall sizing has been consistent for me, especially in jeans.
Mix a pair of long inseam denim with a fitted crop for a casual date night look, or grab a lightweight blouse you can pack for vacation and rewear a dozen ways. There are genuinely good staples in this drop — not just trend pieces.
Sharing what’s in my cart before I narrow it down.

Tall girls, this one’s worth a scroll.
Old Navy has some really good tall options right now — especially if you love an easy matching set. The proportions are actually working (longer rise, real sleeve length, not cropped-to-the-ribs energy 🙃). Perfect for a casual date night outfit, a low-key Valentine’s outfit, or even a polished travel look.
I also found:
• Clearance sweaters that don’t look like clearance
• Extra long jeans that are actually extra long
• Cotton + lace detail blouses in tall sizes (feminine but still wearable)
The matching sets could double as resort wear with a sandal swap, and some of these pieces would absolutely work as a chic vacation or beach outfit layered over a swimsuit.
If you’re tall + and tired of guessing on proportions, these are solid. Linking everything in my LTK.

This is one of those outfits that looks effortless, but every piece is doing something.
I built this look around a striped cashmere rugby-style polo from Apres June in chocolate brown and black. I had my eye on it for a while — 100% cashmere isn’t something I buy casually — but it went on sale and I couldn’t pass it up. The fabric is incredibly soft, slightly lightweight, and drapes beautifully without looking frumpy, even though it’s intentionally oversized.
The exaggerated collar and deep V give it that classic rugby feel, but it still reads feminine. It has that “borrowed from your boyfriend” energy, but styled in a way that feels intentional rather than sloppy.
I paired it with faded black barrel jeans from Gap that hit right at the ankle on me. The wider barrel leg balances the oversized top, and the shorter length keeps the outfit from feeling too long or overwhelming. Oversized on oversized can go wrong fast, and this break in proportion is what makes it work.
To keep the look casual and comfortable, I added a fuzzy chocolate brown Nike beanie and finished it with black-and-white Gola tennis shoes. The pink laces were the deciding factor — they add just enough softness and contrast to keep the outfit from feeling too heavy or masculine.
This outfit was extremely comfortable and very wearable. It’s casual, easy, and still feels cool — exactly what I want from an everyday look.
For reference: I’m 6’3”.
Do you gravitate more toward oversized pieces styled intentionally, or do you prefer cleaner, more structured fits?

#LTKootd #LTKPlusSize #LTKTall
This outfit came together because I wanted something that felt work-appropriate, comfortable, and visually interesting.
I started with a chocolate brown Fair Isle cardigan from Gap in a size Medium Tall. The slightly fuzzy wool texture adds warmth and structure, while the color keeps it from feeling heavy. Underneath, I layered a white, slightly sheer silky cami in a soft camel tone. It’s just long enough to peek out below the cardigan, which helps break up the outfit and keeps the layers from feeling bulky.
On bottom, I wore the Endless Cargo Pants from Athleta in a size 6 Tall in a light mocha brown. These are a straight-leg cargo style, but they can be converted into joggers by snapping the ankles. Worn loose, they felt a little too structured with the oversized cardigan, so I snapped the ankles to create more shape and balance the volume on top.
I buttoned the top two buttons of the cardigan to give it more structure. Wearing it fully open felt a little too relaxed for work, especially with the deep V-neck, and buttoning it helped everything layer and drape more intentionally.
For shoes, I went with chocolate brown suede Mary Janes from Cole Haan. Cargo joggers and an oversized sweater can skew masculine quickly, so pairing them with a softer, more feminine shoe kept the outfit balanced while staying within the same brown color palette.
The result is an outfit that feels breathable, movable, and put-together. It works for the office, but it’s easy to swap pieces — change the Mary Janes for sneakers or the cardigan for a zip-up and it becomes a casual, on-the-go look.
For reference: I’m 6’3”, wearing a Medium Tall on top and a 6 Tall on bottom.

This is how I make a fall-leaning outfit work in spring.
This look started with a light blue Fair Isle–style sweater. Fair Isle usually reads very winter or holiday, but the lighter color shifts it immediately — it feels fresher and much more wearable as the seasons change.
To keep it from feeling too heavy, I layered a longer pink tank underneath. That extra length adds coverage, but more importantly, it breaks up the outfit visually. You could get a similar effect with a belt, but I liked how the softer layer lightens the overall look and keeps it from feeling too structured.
On bottom, I went with light green khaki cargo barrel pants. The slightly oversized, cropped fit paired with the wider barrel leg creates a really good shape with a sweater like this. On me (6’3”), these hit right at the ankle — which I actually like. It feels intentional, especially when styled correctly.
Because of that ankle length, I finished the outfit with a taller Chelsea boot. The lug sole adds structure, but the suede keeps it from feeling heavy or overly rugged. They’re waterproof, comfortable, and quickly becoming a go-to pair.
I was a little cautious about the cargo barrels and tan boots leaning too military, so that’s where the lighter, Scandinavian-inspired sweater and soft pink layer come in. They balance the outfit and make it feel more spring-appropriate without losing the structure.
For reference: I’m 6’3”, wearing a size medium ] on top and size 6] on bottom. This is one of those outfits that works because the colors and proportions are doing the heavy lifting.
When transitioning seasons, do you swap colors first or silhouettes?

Comment SHOP and I’ll send the outfit details.

LOFT order recap 👏🏼
I placed a recent LOFT order and honestly… some really good pieces in here.
• Sleeveless trench (Versa line) – She is GOOD. Not tall-sized, but the proportions work. The quality and design feel elevated. I grabbed a large and love the fit.
• Dark wash wide leg, big cuff jeans – These are LONGGG. I went with my normal size. There’s stretch, so I could have sized down, but they work.
• Barrel pants (dark wash denim) – Sized down and they fit great.
• Barrel pants (corduroy) – Sized up based on a review… didn’t need to. They run big. These are headed to the for-sale pile.
Sharing all linked 👌🏼

Okay, quick blazer moment because I’ve been thinking about this one for months.
This is the Savannah blazer from Amalli Talli, and the second I saw it, I was like… yeah, this is giving Anthropologie vibes.
The plaid is so good — neutral tans with a pop of teal — and the fabric has this soft, slightly fuzzy texture that makes it feel really elevated.
But then you open it and the lining is a royal blue floral print, which I love because it’s unexpected but still works.
I grabbed my usual medium tall. True to size in the shoulders, slightly boxy through the body — very intentional.
And the sleeves… I might actually roll them. Tall girl win.
It’s still on sale for $30, super versatile, and honestly such a solid wardrobe staple.

Monday work fit, tall-girl approved ✔️
I wore these plaid wide-leg trousers from Gap (great length + easy work staple) and paired them with square-toe suede Chelsea boots from Nordstrom Rack — comfy enough for a full day but still polished.
I kept the top half casual with my all-time favorite Free People dolman tee. Truly one of those tees that just works — relaxed, flattering, and I absolutely need it in more colors.
Finished it off with this reversible sherpa bomber from Liv Tall that I randomly scored on Poshmark from another tall girl’s closet 🫶 BUT good news — it’s still available on the Liv Tall site in white and currently marked down to $30 (originally $175 👀). I hate to be that person… but this one is actually worth grabbing if you’ve been eyeing a tall-friendly jacket.
For reference: I’m 6’3”, typically a medium on top, and I’m wearing a large here for a very oversized, slouchy fit.

This is everything I’m saving right now.
Date night outfits, Valentine’s Day outfits, dark wash denim, lace details, cozy knits, premium sneakers… and yes, boots and sandals because my cart has no seasonal loyalty.
Some of this is deep clearance (already thinking spring), some of it is still very much winter, and all of it feels romantic but wearable.
Old Navy, J.Crew, Urban Outfitters, H&M — it’s a little chaotic, but in the best way.

Sometimes the reviews sell me harder than the product.
I started with these wide-leg pleated trousers I grabbed on major sale (pretty sure they’re no longer available, sorry). A lot of the reviews complained that they “look like a skirt when you’re standing still,” and honestly… sold. That swishy, skirt-like movement is exactly what I wanted.
I was genuinely surprised by the length — it’s been a while since I’ve tried pants from this brand, but between these and another pair I ordered, I’ll definitely be revisiting. The pleats give dramatic volume, while the gold front buttons add a slightly retro, almost sailor-inspired feel. Think vintage meets practical drama.
Because it’s still cold here, I layered a wool mock-neck tank underneath and then leaned fully into chaos with the top layer: a cropped, balloon-sleeve, Peter Pan–collar gingham sweater. There is a lot happening — and yes, it might be too much — but sometimes the answer is to wear all the things you like at once.
Fit note for tall girls: the sweater is not tall-sized and runs very small. I sized up to a 2XL (which feels wild) and it fits exactly how I wanted — cropped but intentional.
Finished with lug-sole leather loafers and matching gingham socks, which pushed it straight into picnic-blanket territory… and I decided to lean in.
Cute pants. Cute sweater. Cute socks.
Sometimes you just wear them all together.

Casual Friday, but make it feel intentional.
Everyone’s talking about 2016 style lately, but this outfit took me straight back to the early 2000s — in the best way.
I started with an oversized men’s polo with bold graphic branding and rugby-style striping. Very Y2K, very throwback. I chose a medium tall so the length and scale felt deliberate, not just “borrowed.” A slight front tuck helps define the waist without fighting the oversized silhouette.
The jeans are a loose, straight-leg boyfriend fit from a tall brand — intentionally relaxed, mid-rise, and honestly some of the best-fitting jeans I own. The rise actually hits where it’s supposed to (rare), and the inseam is long. I’m 6’3” with a 36" natural inseam, and these are long enough that I cuff them — or could easily wear them uncuffed if I wanted even more length.
I finished the look with a small cuff, shearling-lined booties for a cozy, casual-Friday feel, and a belt that’s actually from the early 2000s and still fits (a small personal win). Simple jewelry, plus a styled bobby pin and deep side part to fully lean into the Y2K energy.
Relaxed, nostalgic, and very wearable.

Brand Spotlight: Modaccio’s Faux Leather Bomber
Modaccio is a tall-focused brand built on a simple but often overlooked idea: tall women deserve clothing designed for their proportions from the very beginning — not adjusted after the fact. Founded by Kelly Raimon (Schumacher), a former professional athlete standing 6'5", the brand centers timeless wardrobe essentials made with intention, balance, and quality.
That philosophy shows up clearly in Modaccio’s faux leather bomber jacket. While the silhouette is classic, the execution feels considered. The faux leather has a soft, matte finish with dimension — avoiding the shiny or stiff look that can make faux leather feel cheap. The overall fit is intentionally oversized, but the structure keeps it from feeling bulky or shapeless.
Details do the heavy lifting here. The jacket features a zipper and snap closure for versatile styling, snap cuffs instead of elastic, and a ribbed hem that holds its shape while remaining comfortable. A pleated back allows for movement and prevents the jacket from ballooning, and a full satin lining adds comfort and polish.
Bomber jackets are one of those pieces that cycle through trends without ever really leaving — and this one feels built for longevity. Between the thoughtful construction and tall-specific proportions, it’s a strong example of Modaccio’s approach: elevated essentials that move with real life and actually fit the bodies they’re designed for.
For tall women looking to invest in outerwear that prioritizes proportion, structure, and lasting style, Modaccio is a brand worth knowing.
