On Monday I began my first official volunteer day at the art museum where I get to teach basic printmaking and watercolor. It’s a fast paced day full of opportunities to treat everyone with kindness and introduce them to something I love. Towards the end of my day, I met a woman who told me that she is a fashion teacher at a university. When it was time to collect the artwork she had created, she let me know she would be keeping the carved “block” from the printmaking area. It’s something most people throw away as they only want the printed image created from it. Only for her, it was something different. She explained that her son is blind and she wanted to take it home so he could get an idea of what she created. I’ll never be able to look at those little boards without thinking about that. I’m so grateful that she took the time to explain that to me and offer a different perspective. Life is precious. I think this is something we can all agree on. Each day is a gift and we are met with moments, choices and possibilities. Occasionally, even an opportunity to witness a different perspective to learn from. #LTKGiftGuide #LTKHolidaySale
