In art school, there was one word you couldn’t escape. Juxtaposition. It’s the contrast between two objects seen within proximity to another. Little did I know that unlike many things I learned in college, this understanding of one word would create peace when life felt chaotic. Why? Because I came to understand that life exists in juxtaposition. Joy and grief can coincide, and I’ve learned that frequently…they do. Yesterday we said goodbye to my sweet lab Teddy, but I had my husband by my side. I never thought I’d find someone who could enter my life so seamlessly and bring such joy and peace. Both attributes that would be needed when grief arises. Perhaps juxtaposition is really just the yin and yang of life. Either way, give your animals an extra hug for me tonight. They deserve all the love. #LTKGiftGuide
