Do you dry brush? ⁣

Over the last 3 months dry brushing has quickly become my favorite daily form of self care. It’s a great way to gently exfoliate and stimulate blood flow. I typically dry brush 5-6 days a week. When I am consistent, my skin feels so good. And I like to think that it has helped minimize the appearance of cellulite (a major priority in the spring and summer months) and smoothes out my dry skin in the winter, leaving me with a much more even skin tone and a natural glow 😇

The skin is the body’s largest organ and it’s primary source of elimination, so taking this extra step can really make a huge difference. Dry brushing will help renew the outer skin layer and promote blood flow to skins’ deeper layer which results in detoxification, smoother skin, and a nice healthy glow.⁣

For the last 6 weeks I have been using the full Countermatch collection; morning and night, only adding in the Charcoal Face Mask, Overnight Resurfacing Peel and All Bright C Serum as an added boost and since I was already using them prior to starting the regimen. ⁣

I had already been using clean skin care products, which had helped clear up my skin, but I was still looking for something that would help bring my skin back to life and take care of a few lingering concerns. Here’s what I’ve experienced in 6 weeks:⁣

First, I love that this is a full regimen. I really had no idea what type of products I should be using before starting this regimen, so this took out the guesswork and really simplified things. I also love that right on the packaging it tells you when and where it fits in your routine, another thing that always intimidated me. It is clearly marked AM or PM and what step number it is, also making life so much easier! ⁣

As far as my skin goes, overall I have noticed a major improvement with the texture of my skin. Never do I ever remember my face feeling so soft, clean and youthful! It’s amazing and one of those things that I don’t think you realize was an issue until you have/use something better. ⁣

I’ve also noticed that I now have a 𝐝𝐞𝐰𝐲 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐰 that I never had before and I’m loving it! (Thank you Intense Moisture Serum and C Serum) My skin looks youthful and healthy, something I also realized I was missing.⁣

I now have a much more even skin tone and a lot of my redness and dark circles have gotten better. The life has literally been brought back to my skin! And I think even more of that will come with time. ⁣

There’s still a long way to go, but I can’t believe this is my skin! I have never felt so confident without make up on and I would highly recommend this collection to any and everyone with Normal/Combination type skin. It is a great starting point and introduction to not only clean skin care but a well rounded skin care regimen. ⁣

Just two years ago you would have seen my entire home covered with them. Then i learned some freaking scary info on what crazy-scary “top secret” ingredients are lurking inside!⁣

One word, fragrance. ⁣
⁣
The word fragrance can hide a combination of up to 300+ chemicals that companies engineer in creating those scents. YUCK!⁣
⁣
Companies do not have to even disclose those chemicals to the consumer because it’s protected as trade secret. ⁣
⁣
Throw in candles with those fragrances and it’s even worse:⁣
- smoke coming from a candle is laced with as many toxins as second hand smoke⁣
- the soot from candles is found to contain lead, zinc, tin etc. making it damaging for our respiratory systems⁣
- and if THAT didn’t convince you yet, cheaper candles mainly from big box stores, are often made of paraffin wax which is a by-product of the petroleum industry⁣

So why diffuse instead? ⁣

Tests have shown that when an essential oils is inhaled, it can reach the heart, liver, and lungs within 𝟹 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘴! The scent of essential oils can stimulate brain pathways, including our limbs system, which is connected to our emotional response and memories. Studies using electroencephalography (EEG), which measures brain waves, and brain imaging using functional magnetic resonances imaging (fMRI) show significant changes during aromatherapy consisted with its relaxing effects. ⁣

Thieves specifically has been studied for its ability to combat airborne microorganisms with reducing upwards of 96% airborne YUCK within 10 minutes. ⁣

I tossed all my toxic candles and fake fragrances and never looked back! Diffusing is SO fun and you can re-create just about any of your favorite candle scents!⁣

How to make your own Room Spray 🍂⁣

This is one of my most favorite DIYs this time of year, and it is seriously so easy! Here are a few tips for creating your own autumn room spray recipe. ⁣
⁣
If you want to create a unique blend but don’t know where to start, try including an oil from each of these categories:⁣
⁣
𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬 - think lemon, orange, bergamot, lime, etc. ⁣
+ 15 drops⁣
⁣
𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞 -Try cinnamon, clove, ginger, peppermint, etc. ⁣
+ around 10 drop⁣
⁣
𝗪𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐭𝐡 - go for vanilla (or Stress Away), nutmeg, cedarwood, pine, spruce, etc. ⁣
+ less than 10 drops⁣
⁣
After you choose your oils, take off the caps and smell all 3 together. Love it? Add your oils to a 2 ounce spray bottle along with a splash of ditch hazel and fill with water. ⁣
⁣
This is more autumn specific, but could be used as general guidelines for any room spray. I love taking my favorite diffuser blends and turning those into sprays as well (just increase the number of drops).⁣

I woke up with a sore throat and a little congestion in my chest & was not about to let this first day of fall weather lead to a full blown cold. 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘬𝘦𝘺! The idea is to use your oils everyday - not just taking them when symptoms arise. Most of these I use and take everyday, but whenever things creep up I just turn it up a notch with my daily routine!⁣
