The last thing he told me by Laura Dave :: 9.5/10⭐️ this thriller follows Hannah Hall, newly wed of 1 year to Owen Michaels, and his 16 year old daughter Bailey (who wants nothing to do with her new stepmom). When the shop Owen works at goes under, and his boss is arrested, Owen disappears leaving a quick note to his wife “Protect Her” is all is says. After a visit from a US Marshal and the FBI, Hannah quickly realizes Owen isn’t who he said he is, and she has to struggle to find out what’s going on and where her husband is, while trying to win over Bailey. This book had me wanting more until the very end! I would have probably read it in a day if I had the time! I loved the character development. The ending totally had me tearing up a bit. This book goes to show the lengths one is willing to take for protection and love. Definitely recommend this book!

31. The Night He Disappeared by Lisa Jewell :: 8.5/10 ⭐️. This thriller follows young mother, Tallulah Murray when she and her boyfriend, Zach attend a pool party, and never return home. One year later, there’s a new head teacher at a well known local school, and he and his girlfriend, a mystery novelist, move on to the grounds. The writer then stumbles upon a sign saying “dig here.” What she finds sends her into the biggest mystery. What happened to the missing teens? The suspense builds up more in the second half of the book and did get a little dark at times. It’s more of a mystery book following several timelines from several characters perspectives converging at the end into one. I couldn’t put the last half down! The chapters were relatively short and it would have been a quicker read if I had more time to read it! I definitely recommend if you’re into mystery thrillers!

30. Finding Cinderella by Colleen Hoover :: 8/10⭐️. This book is the 3rd in the Hopeless series and follows Daniel, Holders best friend and nickname creator connoisseur, after a random chance encounter in a dark maintenance closet with a mysterious girl who he still thinks about a year later. Fast forward a year and enter Six, an aptly named spunky girl who is about to give Daniel a run for his money. Six holds a deep dark secret that threatens a future that they could have. Didn’t see that one coming! This book had allll the feels! And such a heartbreakingly heartfelt ending, all in just over 100 pages! I wasn’t prepared for it to end as quickly as it did, and was kind of taken off guard when it just ended with 62% of the book left on my kindle (there was a sneak peek of one of her other books that took up the last 38%). So far my least favorite of the series, but still a really great book! The beginning chapters were on the longer side, but in the end they were shorter

7. Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover :: 9.5/10⭐️. Again another CoHo book has left me in tears! Kenna Rowan made a tragic mistake 5 years ago that sent her to prison. She’s now released, and has returned to the town where it all happened in hopes of seeing her 4 year old daughter who she never met. She randomly stumbles into a bar one night, and that changes her life forever. Ledger Ward, the bars owner, seems to be the only person willing to hear her out. But the connection that they begin to feel could have devastating consequences. I thought the book started off a little slow to me, which is why I took the 0.5 stars off but the ending did not disappoint at all. Colleen Hoover is known for her books having very heavy topics, which she so eloquently portrays in her characters. This one was no different. The chapters were relatively short and is a quick read.

6. The dilemma by B.A. Paris :: 7.5/10⭐️. I have come to discover that there are certain types of story lines that I just don’t like, that are just too sad, and this was one of them. All Livia has wanted and dreamed about and saved for was her dream 40th birthday celebration to make up for the lack of a wedding she had to have after getting pregnant young. She did get the party of hers dreams, but she wasn’t the only one hiding a secret that could rock the whole core of her family and friends. Adam, her husband, also has his own life altering secret. If you like sad, you’ll like this one. The writing is very good, and you really feel only the characters souls. It just wasn’t for me. With this book I have read all of B.A. Paris’ books and I highly recommend all of them (tho this one was my least favorite).

5. Finding perfect by Colleen Hoover :: 10/10⭐️. CoHo does it again!!! And another book that absolutely wrecked me, in just over 100 pages, but in the best way possible😭. The final installment of the Hopeless series continues Daniel and Six’s story. I can not say anything without ruining it, but it’s for sure a MUST READ! Really ties up the series so nicely. Can not recommend enough! PS, bring tissues for the second half of the book!

4. The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood :: 7.5/10⭐️ I just didn’t get the hype with this book.. I felt like it was very drawn out and unrealistic. Olive Smith, a PhD candidate, tries to convince her BFF that she is not in love w her ex by kissing the first man she sees, who so happens to be the most hated and difficult professor at Stanford- Adam Carlsen. Olive is surprised when he agrees to be her fake boyfriend for the summer. Olive and Adam get invited to speak at a well known science conference and everything just get flipped upside down. The truth needs to come out one way or another! The last 31% was good- VERY steamy (I’m looking at you, chapter 16.. 🔥). If you like typical romances, you’ll love this one. It just didn’t do it for me! The chapters were very long, and I felt some of the bulk could have been left out. I did really like that each chapter began with Olives hypothesis of the events that would take place - that was cute.

3. All your perfects by Colleen Hoover :: 9.5/10⭐️. This book absolutely wrecked me!😭😭😭. Like sobbing, wrecked me - I’m looking at you chapter 28.. This book is the 4th installment in the Hopeless Series. Quinn and Graham meet in a very unexpected and life altering way and are inseparable almost from that moment going forward. When life gets very difficult, secrets are kept, truths, not spoken and their marriage is close to extinction can a promise they made to each other in the beginning save them..? This book is heavy in infertility, and I’m hesitant to say it’s a safe book to read if you are struggling with that because I don’t know everyone’s individual story, but it may be a good book for people around you too read, because it describes a lot of what most people don’t say. It could also be a relief to read to know what you’re feeling is validated and you’re not alone. It did not have the ending I was expecting, which I appreciated. It’s such a heartbreaking story of struggles and communication and love. I also did not understand how this story fits in with the Hopeless series, but it does, I promise! Colleen Hoover has such a way of writing these stories.

Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover :: 10/10⭐️. I think we need a second rating system just for CoHo books. Seriously, the woman can do absolutely no wrong in my eyes. I have never been so transfixed by a book. The world could have been caving I’m around me and I don’t even think I would have noticed! Beyah Grims life is as her last name suggests. When life’s curveball has her reaching out to a father she barely knows, she spends 2 months in a place she’s never been. Beyah has been the only person she has to thank for the life she is making for herself but little does she know this summer will change everything. The emotion Colleen Hoover puts into her books is just unmatched. I was sobbing the last few chapters, and really felt for each character and their struggles and triumphs. My goodness SUCH am amazing book! I just… you need to read it now! 😭😍

1. Bring me Back by BA Paris :: 9.5/10⭐️. Hot damn! This one was a roller coaster! Layla and Finn stop at a gas station, and when Finn gets back from using the bathroom, Layla is gone. 10 years later, and Finn is engaged to Layla sister, Ellen. When a seemingly random object turns up with meaning only to Layla and Ellen, Finn and Ellen start to wonder if Layla is back- where did she go alll those years ago, and what brings her back now..? This one threw me for a loop, and i couldn’t put it down! It kept me guessing until the very end and I certainly did not see that one coming! This novel was a quick read and flips back between the point of views of the characters. BA Paris is one of my favorite thriller authors, and so far none of her books have disappointed!

Nine Perfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty :: 7/10⭐️. This suspenseful thriller follows 9 guests as they embark on their wellness journey at a highly rated health resort called Tranqillium House. Turns out their stay is a lot more work than expected… Although this book was thrilling, it didn’t leave my heart pumping with excited anticipation. I felt it was a little over the top and unbelievable at times. Although I have not watched the Hulu show, I could definitely see how it could play out on a screen. It was a long book, 450+ pages and some of the chapters were on the longer side. I did enjoy the book, I was just expecting more.

People we meet on vacation by Emily Henry :: 9/10⭐️. This romance was just so cute! Poppy and Alex are best friends, they travel together, but they are complete opposites, and now they havent spoken in 2 years. Poppy convinces Alex to go with her on one last trip to save everything and finally speak her truth. I got very invested in the characters in the last half of the book and was really rooting for them. The character development was great and we really got a sense of who and why they were. I loved that there was a small nod to a character in Emily Henry’s previous book “Beach Read” too! The chapters were a bit long for my preference, but it was still a great book!

29. Losing Hope by Colleen Hoover :: 10/10⭐️. If this book didn’t completely solidify my love for the first book I don’t know what will. My goodness. This book shows Dean Holders viewpoint from the first book, Hopeless. Even though the book is very close to the initial book, it still gave me all the feels. Chills for days and tears! This book is a bit heavier than the first, but seriously so incredibly written and the character development is on point and it’s just such a heartbreaking sweet book. I could go on for days. This is book 2 in a 5 book series. The chapters were mostly short and the last 30% of the book i flew thru in just a couple of hours. At the very least you need to read Hopeless. But man, read this one too. Can not recommend enough!

28. Such a Quiet Place by Megan Miranda :: 7/10⭐️ this book was just ok to me. Ruby Fletcher, convicted murderer of her neighbors the Truetts has been set free and is back at Hollows Edge. This quiet community, still reeling from the murders a meer 14 months prior, now on edge because of her return. When Harper Nash, Ruby’s roommate, starts receiving threatening notes under her door, she realizes she must uncover the truth. No one trusts anyone and everyone is fair game. But who is really at fault here..? The second to last chapter is really the only chapter that left my heart pumping. The chapters were a bit on the longer side. It wasnt a bad book by any means, I just really never got into it.

The seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid :: 9.5/10⭐️. My goodness. This heartbreakingly beautiful story tells the complicated life of an award winning uber famous actress of the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. It tells the story of Evelyn’s true life and all of the things she is willing to go through in the name of fame and love and furthering her career. Taylor Jenkins Reid continues to prove her incredible ability to tell a story and I really enjoyed reading this book. The ending had me in tears. If you like or don’t like historical fiction, this book is for you. Again there is character cross over from Malibu Rising and Daisy Jones and the Six, so I suggest at least reading Malibu rising first. The chapters were short and it was just such a good book.

26. Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reed :: 9/10⭐️. This book was so good! It tells the story of the band the Six, how they met Daisy Jones, and what life was like being in a rock band in the 1970s. The writing style was very cool- written as commentary from a rock and roll documentary. I definitely recommend this one, even if you’re not into rock and roll. Although it’s not necessary, I suggest reading Malibu rising first, there is a bit of character cross over in this book, which I love! The book is divided into sections and each section has relatively short stopping points. Just a really cool, honest, and raw story of the minds and hearts of a few rockers.

25. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover :: 11/10⭐️ HOLY MOLY- everyone needs to read this book right now! Literally couldn’t read the last 70% in a few hours! Colleen Hoover does it again! This book follows Sky, a homeschooled girl with a bit of a reputation, whose mom is against all technology. One day she meets a Holder, a guy who seems to sweep her off her feet. But what is Holden keeping from Sky. I will say no more because I don’t want to ruin anything but my goodness! There is a trigger warning, but I also don’t want to say what it is for fear of ruining any part of the book! The chapters were quick. The writing style AMAZING. Colleen Hoover can do no wrong in my eyes. This book is part 1 of a 5 part series and I can not wait to read the other 4 books!!!

24. Beach Read by Emily Henry :: 9/10⭐️. This book was cute! I cried like 4 times! January Andrews realizes the happily ever afters that she writes about in her books aren’t real when her father dies and she moves into his beach house- life just seems bleak. Next door lives another author and her nemesis from college, while both authors are struggling with a nasty case of writers block, they agree to write each other’s very opposite genres. The deal is that they have to go on field trips with each other to research each genre- fun trips to drive ins and amusement parks, and also interviews with death cult members families.. I love the writing style of this book and not only the character development, but their families development. It’s a great book of overcoming loss, and secrets, and writers block! I didn’t like that the chapters were so long. For me the first half went by a little slow, but it really picked up in the last half and I couldn’t put it down! By the title of the book I expected it to be very heavy in summer and beach and vacation, but I didn’t get that very much. I do think the title could be misleading, so don’t think too much into that if it’s deterring you. Otherwise I definitely recommend!

The therapist by B.A. Paris :: 10/10⭐️ talk about a good October read!!! Couldn’t put this book down! When Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house in an exclusive gated community they think they’ve found their perfect home. Alice uncovers a secret about the house that makes her rethink everything, and everyone for that matter. The style of book reminded me of the Netflix show, You. The chapters were relatively short. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it!
