Here are my 5 tips for selecting the perfect rug: ✨ 1. Start with the rug. Whether I’m designing a living room, bedroom, porch, or even helping decorate a college dorm, the rug is usually my first purchase. It gives me direction for the entire space. ✨ 2. Let the rug set the mood. A rug can make a room feel cozy, elegant, casual, collected, or whimsical. Decide how you want the space to feel before choosing your rug. ✨ 3. Colors and textures matter. I personally gravitate toward warm, inviting spaces that still feel elevated and timeless. The right texture and color palette can instantly make a room feel more polished and intentional. ✨ 4. Don’t overlook indoor/outdoor rugs. They have come such a long way! Many of them are beautiful, soft underfoot, and incredibly durable. Plus, they’re easy to clean.
