I love the natural light in this room- it comes through a huge window at the front of our home. My grandparents always displayed their Christmas tree in that window, and now it’s where ours sits. Every Christmas Day, as far back as I can remember, my extended family gathered here to open presents, laugh and eat my Grandmom’s amazing Christmas dinner; the atmosphere was warm and festive. Over the last decade, December 25th has definitely changed for our family; the kids are older (some of us have families of our own), our Pop is no longer with us (that one will always hurt) and it’s increasingly harder to get everyone together amidst busy schedules. But, some things will never change. Our family will always gather (even if it’ll be in smaller numbers/virtually this year), it will always be warm and it will always be festive.
