Our Christmas decorating is finally complete! My husband finished the outside today, and the house is just as cute as it can be❤️ We don’t go crazy outside.. wreathes on the windows, white lights on the shrubs, but I love how festive it looks. We have a few neighbors that put on quite a show with their exterior decor. They put so much time into every detail, all for the children in the neighborhood❤️ Anyone have their Christmas lights linked to a holiday radio station? We saw a house that did that a couple years ago, and I’m so intrigued! How does that work!? Do you buy a certain stringed light? Is it an outlet that you plug into? Do you always have a traffic jam surrounding your house in the evenings😂 As much as we enjoyed watching the show, in the back of my mind I was thinking, “hope their neighbors don’t need to leave their house, because they probably won’t be able to get out of their driveways”. Happy Friday!! I need some recommendations, friends! Since we turned our dining room into an office, we’re trying to figure out a way to continue to host friends and family. I’ve been searching for a round extendable table. I’ve seen several, but they’re either too large before extending, or too small, and the leaf adds the same amount of length that we have with our current table😑. I can’t believe the series finale of Fixer Upper is tonight. I can honestly say, my house would look nothing like it does now without the constant inspiration from Joanna Gaines. I learned SO much from her! I think anyone that is a fan of the show, learned from her as well. I’m not sure if any other show will ever captivate me like Fixer Upper did. My wheels were always turning after watching. I would lay in bed and plan my next project, or envision Shiplap in every room! I dreamed, pinned, planned, and made constant changes, all thanks to the incredibly inspiring, Jojo! I heard a rumor that she already has another show in the works.. can anyone confirm that? Happy Monday, friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We had amazing weather here in NC, and tried to take advantage of it🌞. Today has been a lot of catching up and running errands for me. My kiddo is on spring break this week, so we started out spring break at the dentist😀!! Fun times! Every year I say, “next year we’re going somewhere for spring break” and guess what.. this year is the same as last. Oh well! As long as we have beautiful weather, we will make the most of it! Has everyone heard that recent studies show, taking a bath burns as many calories as a 30 minute walk!? True story! And let’s talk about how my water bill will be through the roof next month😀 It will be for a good cause though. Instead of getting a gym membership, I’m gonna take three baths a day.. should balance itself out, right!? I’ve been waiting for a study like this to come around! I’ve mentioned in the past that I’ve self diagnosed myself with a disorder that I also created.. BDD (bipolar decorating disorder). I’m not sure who I need to reach out to to confirm this is an actual disorder, but I know I’m not alone!! Give me a 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ if you have it too😜. I like all the styles. Boho, farmhouse, cottage, modern, traditional... And my BDD causes me to forget what style I’m trying to work with! I honestly, still don’t know what that style is, BUT, the one thing that I always go back to is blue. I don’t like cleaning the upstairs, because it’s my husband and fourteen year old daughter’s space. Man cave, art room, her bedroom, bathroom, and guest room. These are rooms you don’t see me share and there is a reason for that! It’s also where I tend to put all of the decor that I’m not currently using😬 One of these days I will have the motivation to actually clean the upstairs. Friends, the last thing I want to do is complain about my home, but trying to photograph this cockamamie floor plan ain’t easy!!! This house lacks symmetry, which is a challenge when it comes to decorating, and of course, photographing. I’m constantly trying to figure out ways to make sense of this floor plan, and five years later, I’m still scratching my head🤔. We’ve always wanted a sectional, and we were not quite sure how it would work in our family room, but went for it anyway! I’m sooooo glad we did!! Funny how the addition of a new piece of furniture makes everything else look all wrong! I’m now on a mission for a round kitchen table😬 I’ve got tooooo many rectangular things happening. So the decorating addict saga continues! Subconsciously, I think that I create these problems on purpose. What in the world would I do if everything was perfect!? I’m back from the Bahamas and officially ready for the warm weather and all of the wonderful things that come with! Flowers, ferns, the smell of fresh cut grass! I don’t typically like to post photos with lights on, but my husband hung our new pendant light fixtures, and they’re even prettier all aglow! I loved the look of the lights we had, but they were more of a spot light. My kitchen doesn’t get much natural light, so anything to brighten the space is a plus!🌝

Well, I finally decided on window treatments for the office! I truly go about decorating all wrong! Yes, I start by pinning ideas on Pinterest, and yes, I start with an inspiration piece. Once I have an idea though, I stop there. I get my inspiration piece in the space, and then take months to figure the rest of the room out😑. So I appreciate everyone’s patience with me😬. I’m not one that provides instant gratification as far as before and afters go. Weekend projects don’t exist in my world. Projects around here are like seasons on television... they last several months. So the season finale for our office will probably show late Spring.. or possibly have a “to be continued.. and keep ya hanging till early Fall! Next for the office, wall art! Stay tuned😉

Today was great, friends! Started my day out cuddled up in bed watching old episodes of Friends, as it rained outside. Met my best friend for lunch, followed by shopping at Homegoods. Then I came home and instead of cleaning.. I took a bath🛁❤️😊. I’m so programmed to clean and run errands on my day off, and today, I just didn’t want to. Feels good! One thing I’m currently working on, is learning to relax. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m great at sitting down and procrastinating, but relaxing is a challenge. My brain doesn’t allow me to sit still without thinking of all the things that I could/should be doing. Even when I lay down to go to bed.. the brain Won’t. Turn. Off. I recently pulled a muscle, or pinched a nerve in my back, and I took a nice, RELAXING bath with lavender infused Epsom salts. Folks, it was wonderful! I actually was able to sit still, and enjoy the bath! So in my quest to figure out ways to enjoy peace and quiet, and not tell myself that I’m wasting precious time. What helps you relax? As much as I would like to say, “Happy Tuesday,” today has been a rather sad day. My husband lost a beloved family member today, and we’re trying to process everything. I’m finding myself trying to stay busy, and just cleaning everything. I even cleaned the bathroom. When the bathroom gets cleaned, it’s worth documenting. It’s times like this, I’m very thankful to have Instagram as an outlet. It’s seriously my happy place. Continuous support from so many amazing people. Thank you, Friends! I appreciate you all❤️

Our home office is almost complete!! We’re still waiting on the chair to be delivered. I can’t stand having a chair-less office, so I borrowed a chair from upstairs😬 I need to figure out window treatments, and wall decor, but besides that, we’re in business!! What. A. Week!!! And it’s only Tuesday!! Our poor dog (that is overweight and old🙁) tore is ACL on Saturday. Surgery is not an option because of his age, so we’ve been trying to help the poor guy stand, walk and lay down since Saturday night. We are so desperate to help him heal and most importantly, get comfortable again, that we tried acupuncture today. So far, so good.. but we’ve been ordered to put him on a diet. Not sure how easy that will be, considering the only way to have him hold still for the needles, was to shovel treats into his mouth😑. The doctor recommended giving him carrots instead of cookies, and I laughed out loud!! She was very serious, but she doesn’t know just how finicky that old boy is! Fruits, veggies, he’s having none of it (believe me, I’ve tried). Any recommendations for healthy treats to be given to a dog that refuses to be treated like a dog, would be greatly appreciated😬
