This one’s for YOU!! . 🪴 How to plant a container garden successfully: . 🌸 Five Easy Steps to Plant a Container Garden: . 1️⃣ Drainage Holes: 🪴 Plant your annuals in a container with drainage holes. . 🪴 This may seem like a no brainer, but I have seen many not check for drainage holes only to witness their plants die FAST! Water has to drain out the bottom of your pot or you will have root rot quickly! . 2️⃣ Coffee Filters: . 🪴 I normally add a coffee filter over the drainage holes to keep the soil from flushing out the bottom. . 3️⃣ Good Potting Soil: . 🌿 Fill your container with FRESH potting soil. I love Miracle Gro!! . 4️⃣ Osmocote: . 🌸 Osmocote is a slow release fertilizer. It will feed your annuals all summer long. This will eliminate the need for liquid fertilizer - time saver! The recommendations for how much to add is on the package. I always add MORE than recommended. . 5️⃣ Moisten Soil: . 🚿 I always moisten my soil before adding annuals. The soil will condense upon getting wet, so you will have to add additional potting soil to fill the pot back up. Moisten the soil to a cake batter consistency. .
