I started baby wearing for me, there was something about wearing my baby that quiet my anxious thoughts. I knew if he was sleeping, breathing, needed to be changed, and it made me feel like I could move around and go places without letting my anxiety get the best of me. Not enough people talk about the disconnect you can feel from your baby when you’re struggling with postpartum depression and anxiety. I know what it feels like not to want to hold your baby. Or feel overwhelmed by their cries. But the more I wore my son postpartum, the more I felt like motherhood wasn’t as overwhelming. I went off to have two more babies and I’ve wore them since the day they were born.
