When’s the last time you took a day for yourself? Like I’m talking about completely shutting off the world and engaging in some serious self-care. . We live in a society that preaches the value that being “busy” is better; that rest is for the weak. 🤦🏼‍♀️However, rest is a vital part of being healthy. If we don’t slow down and give ourselves the quality care that we need {and deserve}, we are heading down a spiraling path to burnout, sickness, and general unhappiness. So why do we feel so guilty about using our personal days? Our sick days? Why do we feel bad about taking care of ourselves and slowing down our world? . Self-care doesn’t have to be fancy lattes and massages and shopping sprees. Self-care can be taking a long, hot shower. Self-care can be shutting off the dang phone. It can be lighting a candle and reading a book. It could be spending some time with your dog. It can be doing something you enjoy vs. being productive .....because you don’t always have to be productive! . I encourage you to challenge the societal norm that doing “more” is better. Because guess what? At the end of the day, you’re only cheating yourself and burning yourself out. So take care of yourself. You only have one body, and one life to make it count❤️ . http://liketk.it/2ycW4 @liketoknow.it . . . #liketkit
