can’t believe it’s (almost) been a year 🥹

I took my time settling in, but I really feel like it’s all coming together these last few months. Amidst the chaos, heartbreak, and struggles the past year this truly has become my cozy little escape. I’ve found solace in making it truly mine when everything outside the door felt so overwhelming.

Just like you should never rush finding yourself, don’t feel like you have to rush to make a space your own. The best things in life take time and care ❤️

can’t control the view, can control how I view it😌

isn’t it amazing how a little trim and double sided tape can totally change the vibe? I hate the look of a big empty window, but just a few pieces of trim and some double sided removable foam tape later and I’m pretty obsessed with how it looks now ❤️

Materials will all be linked in my bio!

creating a home takes time 🫶

It’s easier to see the highlight reels and assume everyone else’s homes are fully decorated and perfect, but unless you have an unlimited budget, you probably have to take your time to find just the right things (specially if you’re a thrifter!)

adding *charm* one knick knack at a time

Truly can’t believe it’s already been 6 months since I moved in (!) I wasn’t really sure how I’d feel living in a new building after years in an old house with its own built in charm and quirk. I still have plenty I’m wanting to add and tweak to my space, but I’ve been so happy with how it’s come together so far 🫶

morning at the museum 🖼️ a lil thrifted spring fit to remind myself that it was warm in philly for three glorious days

Small things that helped me fall back in love with getting dressed⤵️

~ finding inspiration that was exciting, but also felt attainable and utilized things already in my closet

~ focusing on building outfits, not just buying exciting stand alone pieces. A flashy set can be tempting to run out and buy, but learning recipes for how to mix basics is way more helpful in the long run

~ Experimenting! Setting aside time to try out different outfits without feeling rushed. For me that was Sunday mornings - I could take my time putting together a cute little outfit before I headed to the farmer’s market without the stress of a time crunch.

~ thrifting most of my clothes has given me a way to try out new styles without making a huge financial commitment. Sometimes something just doesn’t work, but I don’t need to feel guilty I spent a ton of money or created new waste just to experiment

~ time! For me, loosing my connection to my style didn’t happen overnight, and finding it again didn’t either. If you feel like you’re trying to get back in touch with that side of your self, give yourself time and patience

confessing what I DIDN’T thrift for my apartment

Contrary to popular belief I do *occasionally* buy things new, and these are the bigger things I invested in.

My recent thrift finds, and how I’ll be wearing them (can someone wake me up when spring arrives??)

I’m definitely finding myself grabbing more “classics” lately. Pieces I can see myself keeping for years and years and styling a million different ways.
~ A good rain jacket (in a classic chore-style)
~ Baseball hats, both for the look and also always good to have a little extra sun protection
~ Denim/Blue oversized button-down. Perfect for layering or throwing over a bathing suit
~ a crewneck sweatshirt never really goes out of style, does it?
