Got quite a few messages about my hair yesterday after I posted my insta story. I am not really good at taking care of my hair until recently. 3 years ago I started coloring my hair, and I have noticed the dryness it has caused. Last time I got my hair colored, instead of warm tone, I got ashy and I just hated that color right when I saw myself at salon. I didn’t freak out there but I did communicate that’s not color I asked for. Few things I did and realize afterwards: 1. If you ever get bad hair color or toning. Go home wash your hair with “dish washer” soap. That’s equivalent to 10-15 washes of shampoo. But it will cause extreme dryness. This is to get the color out as much as possible. 2. Then I mixed conditioner with lime juice and left it in my hair for 4 hours or so. The conditioner masking made my hair baby soft and the color you see now is the color I ended up with. And I LOVE it! If you ever naturally want to lighten your hair, conditioner and lime juice is perfect for that. 3. I had to find someone near by (because of Ileana and travel time to the last place I used go) which I did and loved her work but then she was out for so long. I thought maybe another colorist at the same place would be great too. Nope. Stick with the one you found. 4. I always had naturally dry and frizzy hair. Coloring didn’t help, so now I recently started hair mask and also got a keratin vital shot. It has made my hair shiny and healthy. Food for the hair 🙌🏼 5. Get a experienced/talented colorist. I always am willing to pay extra for a good colorist. If you see hair with top part is black and bottom is blonde and there is no blending. That’s not a good balayage, it looks horrible actually (personal opinion). Research balayage and see what it supposed to look like. 5. Lastly, my family hair genetics are just amazing.
