Sorry I couldn’t get to answer all the questions on insta stories. Wasn’t feeling well for past few days, had to get an IV last night at the hospital and meds. Getting better today and hoping to keep all my food down. Harsh took care of everything, I don’t even remember yesterday. He has so much going on at work and with everything at home. I feel so blessed to have such a good man, even with all the chaos, he always makes sure that I am doing ok. So thankful for my good friends for taking me to hospital in moments notice. Plan for workout today and yesterday went down the drain. Work deadlines and baby/home chores has completely taken over. On positive note, I made spicy Parmesan shrimp pasta which was a hit (best pasta ever and no sauce required) and new purée for Ileana from her new cookbook which she loved. Happy weekend! Trying to plan Ileanas first birthday. I can’t believe she is going to be 1 in one month 🙈 Few things she does now:
1. Does not want to be held, wants to just walk or try to run by herself.
2. She doesn’t want to be fed, wants to eat on her own.
3. She loves the Dave and Eva show, she doesn’t like anything else. If we start playing the baby songs from Dave and Eva, she will start dancing and singing.
4. She says mama and papa, and booo for harry.
5. She recently started walking in shoes 🤗
6. She sleeps in her own room, even though she still wakes up and cries hysterically for 1 or 2 hrs at night (sleep training currently)
7. She loves broccoli, chicken, mango and Mac n cheese!
8. She loves to hug harry
9. She gives the best kisses and hugs
10. She waved hi and bye to everyone. 👋 she plays with everyone.

Got quite a few messages about my hair yesterday after I posted my insta story. I am not really good at taking care of my hair until recently.
3 years ago I started coloring my hair, and I have noticed the dryness it has caused. Last time I got my hair colored, instead of warm tone, I got ashy and I just hated that color right when I saw myself at salon.

I didn’t freak out there but I did communicate that’s not color I asked for. Few things I did and realize afterwards:

1. If you ever get bad hair color or toning. Go home wash your hair with “dish washer” soap. That’s equivalent to 10-15 washes of shampoo. But it will cause extreme dryness. This is to get the color out as much as possible.

2. Then I mixed conditioner with lime juice and left it in my hair for 4 hours or so. The conditioner masking made my hair baby soft and the color you see now is the color I ended up with. And I LOVE it! If you ever naturally want to lighten your hair, conditioner and lime juice is perfect for that.

3. I had to find someone near by (because of Ileana and travel time to the last place I used go) which I did and loved her work but then she was out for so long. I thought maybe another colorist at the same place would be great too. Nope. Stick with the one you found.

4. I always had naturally dry and frizzy hair. Coloring didn’t help, so now I recently started hair mask and also got a keratin vital shot. It has made my hair shiny and healthy. Food for the hair 🙌🏼

5. Get a experienced/talented colorist. I always am willing to pay extra for a good colorist. If you see hair with top part is black and bottom is blonde and there is no blending. That’s not a good balayage, it looks horrible actually (personal opinion). Research balayage and see what it supposed to look like.

5. Lastly, my family hair genetics are just amazing. Thank you universe! They all have super thick and heavy hair.

Using positive language takes a lot of practice and effort. Here are a few ways to use positive language:
1. Convey Trust in abilities
Using positive words and encouraging yourself and others to meet expectations allows an opportunity to fulfill those expectations, or even surpass them. Communicating to others that you believe in them and their abilities gives the confidence they need to collaborate with others, become respectful listeners, and work competently by reiterating positive behaviors and encouraging others to do the same.
2. Practice positive vocabulary
Not only is it important for us to model positive language, but should be practicing it as well, on a daily basis. And having reflect on our language to identify words that have negative connotations will allow us to become more aware of the impact of language on ourselves and others.

For every negative statement I make, I work to include at least three positive statements. This takes practice.

3. Choose your words wisely
Language that is inclusive and empowering allows for mutual trust and reciprocal communication to occur more freely.

Reflecting on word choice goes beyond, it shows we are supportive, empathetic, inclusive, and accepting. And reflecting on your word choice displays that it’s OK to take a moment to organize, prepare, and present their thoughts in a way that’s meaningful to everyone.
4. Be Honest
The use of compassionate and straightforward language allows us to build trust and fosters an environment of growth.

Direct and honest communication allows little room for vague interpretations of rules and/or expectations, which in turn, provides us with a safer and more trust-filled environment.
Being positive takes effort, practice and a lot awareness about yourself and your surroundings. Seek to understand and apply as necessary. 💗

Happy new week. Spent the weekend decluttering and cleaning and it felt good. Vacation and then sickness pushed back my workouts but I am ready to do it all again. I was talking to a friend about it, and she said you should start, I love the positivity she have, I felt motivated. So with that being said, if you are trying to do something good for yourself try these things:
1. Hang out with people who are doing the habit you want to do.
2. If there are people around you who don’t do the habit you want to do, talk to them about what you’re trying to do, and ask for their help. Ask them to support you.
3. Join a supportive community online who are doing the things you want to do.
4. Read blogs and books that inspire you to do the habit.
5. Have reminders all around you.

Inspiration comes from within and from people/things around you. Make sure you have people that inspire you, make you feel good about the person you are becoming.

Post with Purpose- Understanding who is good for you and your growth.

I was always impatient and wanted to make everyone a friend without thinking anything through. I never thought if they are actually good for me, do I get inspired by them or can I build a relationship where we can trust and grow. Just like before you get into relationships, you ask yourself if the other person is actually good for you.
I am better at realizing who is actually good for me.

Few things that I focus on now:

1. Is the person positive or negative about things in their life. Are they negative just because or they are actually going through something?

2. Do they compare everything they have with everything you have? Do they show interest or just try be interesting. Do they just want to be the best in everyone’s eye? Or they secure with themselves with who they are or what they have?

3. Do they support you in front of your face and talk bad about you to others behind you. This one you kind of get to know if you already made friends with wrong company.

4. Are they highly motivated or following a dream and meeting the goals of their plans? Or all they just talk? Do they have career or life goals.

5. Do they take disagreements in good way? Or they just want to win? Do they accept people or want to change them?

6. Do they talk bad about their family in front of public or group of friends?

7. I now pick up on people’s expressions or gestures while meeting them. Are they trying to be someone they are not. Eyes says a lot about the person, and so does attitude.

8. Do they make you feel good about your goals and improvements or rather say how they can’t do it or how it’s not important to them.

I now ask questions like these to myself before I start investing in someone. It is SO important for you to realize who is good for you. Wrong company can hold your growth, put your focus on things that don’t matter and shift you away from becoming a better and positive person.

As we grow older it is harder to make friends, And if you make them, focus on if they are good for you. Ask questions and get answers before trusting or building any relationship

Post with purpose 3 - One way to be honest to yourself, self-reflection.

We meet a lot of folks online and offline, some we mesh well with, some we don’t vibe with. In order to start knowning who you truly are, self-reflect on yourself why you don’t like someone. Is it because of ideals or is it because they seem much happier and has everything going for them.

There was a girl I met during my early days of career, she was beautiful and smart. I didn’t like her, She had all the answers and was always part of events and networking. She seemed perfect. After some time of ignoring her, I self-reflected on myself, because it was bothering me every day. I wanted to know what was the cause instead of just hating on her for no reason. I clearly knew I was insecure whenever she was around, she had the aura and amazing energy that captivated everyone around her. I had to dig deep in myself to get to the problem and write it down so I could see it. Insecurity is a big demon that we all have to deal with some point. But if you don’t work on it, it will never get better. You will remain at the same spot, unhappy in those situations. Insecurity is manifested by cultures and environment (competition) we grow up in, it is important to be aware of behavior especially when you are raising children. Self-reflection over the years have made me a happy and confident person. It is a helpful tool not only for your personal life but for your professional.

Self reflection is never ending process, the world is not perfect and it never will be. So the best you can do is be honest to yourself. Practice self-reflection when things or people or situations bother you. Spend time understanding why you act or react a certain way.

What a week, thank goodness it’s the weekend! I absolutely love my job, time flies by so fast that I feel like I need more hours in a day to finish all my work.
