One of the least charming things in a kitchen? The trash can. So when I found a handmade cabinet that disguises it completely, I knew it belonged in our cottage kitchen. From the outside, it looks like a beautiful piece of furniture. Inside, it keeps our trash tucked out of sight, while the drawer above stores extra bags so they’re always within reach when it’s time for a replacement. We all take out the trash. We all replace the bag. We all have those everyday tasks that aren’t exactly glamorous. But I love finding ways to make even the most ordinary parts of daily life feel a little prettier, a little more functional, & a little more intentional. It blends seamlessly into our kitchen, & most people never realize it’s actually a trash can until I open the door.
