One of my favorite parts of summer living on the coast is collecting shells & bringing a little piece of those beach days back home with me.

After seeing my friend Stephanie use candle sand, I instantly started thinking about how I could create my own cottage coastal version. A few locally collected oyster shells, candle sand, & wicks later, this simple summer centerpiece came to life.

The oyster shaped tray was handcrafted by a local potter, & I completely fell in love with it the moment I saw it. It felt like the perfect piece to pair with treasures collected along our Carolina coast.

I love finding ways to think outside the box with decorating, especially when the pieces tell a story.

And if you’re not visiting the coast this summer, don’t worry. I’ve found some shells for you friend. 🤍

One of my favorite ways to refresh a space for summer is with florals.

I kept our outdoor dining table simple this season with a weathered urn overflowing with white blooms and trailing greenery. Nothing complicated, just a few pieces that make the table feel ready for slow dinners, conversations that linger, and evenings spent under the pergola.

I’ve found that the simplest arrangements are often the ones I enjoy the most. They don’t compete with the space around them. They simply add a little beauty to everyday moments.

There’s something so special about gathering around a table that feels inspired by the garden itself. This week for The Garden House event with @antiquefarmhouse, I wanted our formal dining room to feel like an extension of the outdoors with collected greenery, layered florals, vintage inspired details, & soft cottage charm woven throughout the space.

The warm buttery walls in Blonde by Sherwin Williams continue to make this room glow throughout the day, especially paired with natural textures, wicker, ironstone, & fresh greenery scattered across the table. I love creating spaces that feel beautiful but still welcoming enough for everyday living.

One of my favorite details might just be the simple table styling. Layering pieces I already had on hand, mixing old with new, adding flowers from around the house, & letting the room slowly evolve over time into something that feels personal.

Our formal dining room is slowly becoming one of my favorite spaces in this home. One of the very first changes I wanted to make in this builder grade room was paint, & Blonde by Sherwin Williams completely transformed the feeling of the space. The soft warmth it brings throughout the day feels so inviting, cozy, & full of charm.

This room is still evolving little by little, which honestly makes me love it even more. My next plans are to paint the ceiling the same color to fully wrap the room in warmth, along with adding architectural detail overhead for even more character & charm. I want this space to feel timeless, warm, & thoughtfully designed from top to bottom.

Getting to gather here recently for The Garden House event with @antiquefarmhouse made me even more excited for all the future plans I have for this room.

A little spring baking moment in our cottage kitchen today.

I recently picked up this Black & Decker hand mixer from @walmart & the very first thing I made with it was zucchini bread. There’s just something about this time of year that makes me crave it. Light, perfectly sweet, & full of those cozy homemade flavors that make the whole kitchen smell incredible while it bakes.

Zucchini bread has always been one of my favorite spring breads. It feels simple, nostalgic, & like the kind of recipe you make on a quiet afternoon with the windows open & flour on the counter.

This little mixer made it so easy to whip everything together & it’s the perfect size for everyday baking in a cottage kitchen.

Spring magnolias around the house.

One thing I love about decorating with faux florals is how easy they are to move from room to room. These magnolia stems from @afloral have that classic Southern garden look that instantly makes a space feel like spring.

Instead of treating them like a perfect arrangement, I style them the same way I would fresh branches from the yard. A few stems leaning outward, a few blooms sitting lower, & letting the leaves turn naturally so you see those beautiful deep greens & warm bronze tones.

Magnolias have such a timeless presence. Whether they’re sitting on a coffee table, dining table, or entry table, they bring that soft seasonal shift into the home without feeling overly styled.

Sometimes it really is as simple as a vase and a few good stems.

There is something about a simple, beautiful dinnerware set that instantly makes everyday meals feel a little more special.

When I saw this new Corelle set at @walmart, I loved the delicate green vine detail. It feels classic, almost like something you would stumble upon in an old countryside kitchen. Light, timeless, & easy to mix with woven placemats, vintage wood boards, & fresh florals for a cottage inspired table.

One of my favorite styling tricks is letting the dinnerware guide the rest of the table. The soft green pattern pairs perfectly with natural textures like rattan, linen, & wood, creating a table that feels relaxed but thoughtfully layered.

Pretty plates, simple ingredients, & a table ready for slow evenings at home. That is always my favorite kind of dinner.

This space has slowly become one of my favorite rooms in our home. The darker doors, the checkered floors, the cane metal chairs, the layered greens. It already feels collected & I can see the next layer so clearly.

I’ve always believed rooms evolve in chapters. You live in them first. You style them. You adjust the light. You pay attention to what they’re asking for. And then, when the timing feels right, you add something bold.

Wallpaper is next.

For now, I’m soaking in this calm, classic moment. The brass candlesticks, the vintage inspired tablecloth, soft florals, & simple place settings that make even an ordinary evening feel intentional.

A little Tuesday refresh in our breakfast nook.

Spring here is never a full makeover. It is a simple layering of pieces | already love. Faux greens & soft white florals in aged pots. Wicker, warm wood, & natural light doing what they always do in this space.

The best part is in the details. The placemats were thrifted for one dollar each. The linen napkins were a clearance find at Pottery Barn last fall while I was in store shopping. Timeless pieces at thoughtful prices will always be my favorite way to build a table that feels collected rather than rushed. Dining table, chairs & chandelier are from my friends at @antiquefarmhouse & the round mat is from my friends at @vmathome

Florals & greenery are not just seasonal decor for me. They are part of my everyday cottage style. I always want our home to feel lived in, layered, & gently evolving as the seasons shift.
